Focus Description:

The performer takes a bright ribbon rolled into a ring from the table, unwinds it and stretches it with both hands. It turns out that there were two identical pieces of tape in the ring. The magician takes the ribbons closer to the middle so that the audience can see the four hanging ends, then he goes to a burning candle standing on the table and sets fire to the ribbons in the middle. Now he has four pieces in his hands.

“It’s easy to make four short ones out of two large ribbons,” says the performer. - But to do the opposite, i.e. of the four segments, two are much more difficult.

The artist invites two spectators to the stage, gives each of them two ends of the ribbons and asks them to pull them. Four scorched ends remain in the hands of the performer. He counts to three and lets go. Viewers see two completely whole tapes.

Focus secret:

For the demonstration, you will need two pieces of bright tape 2 cm wide and 2-3 meters long. The secret of the trick is in the third section of the ribbon of the same color, 30-40 cm long.

This piece of tape is sewn together with a ring.

Before the start of the performance, the performer lays out both large pieces of ribbon on the table and puts their secret ribbon ring on the ends. Now we need to "load" the tape. To do this, first twist the secret ring with a roll, and then, starting from the free end, twist two large pieces of tape together with the secret ring into a common roll. The ribbon prepared in this way is placed along with other objects on the illusion table, where the candle should be.

The performer begins the demonstration of the trick by taking a tape roll from the table, and in such a way that the free end of the tape, together with the secret ring, is sandwiched in his palm. The tape roll then unwinds, throwing it at the audience, and passes the tapes through a clenched fist, showing the audience all four ends of its tape lengths. After that, the performer stops his hands in the middle of the segments, connects the ends of each tape together and spreads them in different directions, holding them with both hands. As can be seen from the figure, in the hands of the performer, instead of a large piece of tape, a tape ring is clamped, which the audience perceives as the middle of the tape sections.

The performer then holds a ribbon ring over the fire, which burns and splits in two. But that doesn't bother him at all. The artist invites two spectators to the stage, and at this time, straightening the ends of the ribbons, he takes the middle of the real segments with his right hand. His left hand quickly slides off, hiding the charred pieces of the secret ring in his fist. The performer takes a magic wand, leaves burnt pieces of ribbons on the table and goes towards the audience.

He gives each of them one end of the tape.

The magician touches his wand to the hand in which the ribbons are clamped, opens his palm, and the audience sees that the ribbons are intact.
