Focus Description:

The magician asks one of the spectators to tightly tie the ends of two scarves - red and green. While the spectator is doing this, the magician removes the lid from the cylindrical box and reveals that it is empty. Then he puts the tied handkerchiefs in the box, closes the lid and puts it on the table. He takes off the lid and takes out both handkerchiefs one after the other - as if they were not connected. Shows the box again - it's empty.

Focus secret:

The box is closed on both sides with two identical lids. A cardboard ring with a partition glued into it moves freely inside the box. Two handkerchiefs are placed in the box in advance. The partition covers them, and it seems that the box is empty. If the magician discreetly turns it over at the moment when he is carrying it to the table, the partition will fall and cover the tied scarves, and the ones laid in advance will be on top.

Focus Two handkerchiefs

Paint the inside of the box and the baffle ring black. The outer side of the box and both lids can be painted as you like, but be sure to be symmetrical, otherwise the viewer will notice that the box is upside down.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Advanced SSDs from Intel 08.11.2012

Intel Corporation announced the start of deliveries of a new generation of solid state drives (Solid State Drive - SSD) - Intel SSD 335 Series. The new drives are replacing the Intel SSD 300 Series, which the company began shipping in April. Devices of the new generation are made on the basis of flash memory, made using 20-nm technology. Previous generation devices used 25nm technology.

"This is the first Intel SSD product to use 20nm NAND flash developed by the IM Flash Technologies joint venture," Intel said in a statement. The company said that the new devices use 64 Gbit (8 GB) memory chips, the start of mass production of which was announced in early December 2011.

In order to maintain the same level of reliability inherent in the previous generation of products made using 25nm technology, it was decided to use a planar cell structure and transistors with a metal gate and a dielectric with a high dielectric constant (High-K Metal Gate Stack), said vice president Intel Rob Crooke.

The Intel SSD 335 Series is equipped with a SATA 3.0 6 Gb/s interface and comes in a 2,5-inch form factor. The case thickness is 9,5 mm. The package includes an adapter for a 3,5-inch form factor.

As stated in the press service of Intel, the new devices offer best-in-class performance. They are capable of performing up to 42 I/O operations per second in the mode of reading data blocks of 4 KB and up to 52 I/O operations per second in the write mode of similar blocks. Sequential read speed is 500MB/s, write speed is 450MB/s.

According to the specification posted on the official website, the guaranteed service life of the drives is 3 years, provided that no more than 20 GB of data is written to the memory daily.
Intel drives offer the Intel SSD Toolbox software with Intel SSD Optimizer technology, which includes tools to diagnose and improve drive performance that may degrade over time due to the nature of flash memory. The solution is also compatible with the Microsoft Windows 8 operating system.
