Three cards are changed to others.

Focus secret:

For this trick you need to have three specially prepared cards. The speck should be the same as the speck of the deck you usually use, and the front side should be as shown in the picture.

Focus Transformation of three cards

You place these three cards separately at the bottom end of the deck. You begin by noting that you intend to show the public a good trick with four eights and a two of diamonds.

If you use a picket deck, you should stock up on a separate two of diamonds, similar in format and markings to the rest of the deck. You take the deck and, having removed four ordinary eights from it, hand them over for examination.

While they are being examined, you pass the little finger of your left hand between the bottom three cards (prepared) and the rest of the deck. When the eights are returned to you, you place them with deliberate carelessness on the top of the deck (but taking care that the eight of clubs lies above), and hand over the two of diamonds for examination.

While this card is being considered, you roll to move the three prepared cards to the top of the deck. When the two of diamonds is returned, you place it on the table and, having removed the top four cards, which now consist of the three prepared and the eight of clubs, you fan them out if desired to represent the four eights.

The eight of clubs alone is clearly visible, and half of each of the other cards is covered by the card following it. The spectators, of course, mistake these four cards for the ordinary four eights they were just looking at.

Place the two of diamonds behind the eight of clubs and, turning it over, place this card on the table. Fold the cards and unfold them again, but this time so that the opposite ends are in front, then they will represent four deuces.

Again take the eight of clubs instead of the two of diamonds, and turn over the supposed two of hearts. You can do this easily and, of course, by noticing:

“Now I need to touch something black; the sleeve of my coat can serve for this. I will quietly pass each card along the sleeve, like this, and put it back in its original place. Now all the cards have become black.”

Again put the two of diamonds instead of the eight of clubs, touch some red object, turn over the cards and unfold them: then they will all be red.

Once again put the eight of clubs in place of the two of diamonds and put four cards again on the deck, make a volt in order to transfer the three prepared cards to the lower end of the deck, and leave the ordinary eights at the top.

Controlled Release Fertilizers 03.09.2021

A joint venture between Sollio Agriculture, retail chain partners and US coating technology company Pursell will build and operate an advanced controlled release fertilizer plant in St. Thomas, Ontario. Investments in the project amounted to more than 20 million dollars.

The new plant will open in autumn 2021 and is expected to start deliveries in August 2022. Next-generation fertilizers will be produced using Pursell's innovative coating materials and proprietary processing technologies, including one that allows the addition of trace elements and temperature-sensitive additives such as biologicals, growth enhancers and soil health promoters.

These controlled release coatings improve nutrient uptake by plants with the potential to significantly increase yields and quality while reducing evaporative greenhouse gas emissions and reducing the risk of nutrient leaching and runoff.

Historically, in Ontario, slow-release fertilizers have been difficult to grow for cash crops such as corn, wheat, canola, or potatoes, and have been used primarily in turf, ornamental, and specialty agriculture in the region.

Pursell's coating innovations and technologies, combined with local production, make the widespread introduction of this type of fertilizer into the commercial agriculture market economically and environmentally sound.

Once at full capacity, the St. Thomas plant will produce over 100 tons.
