Focus Description:

Throw a die on the table and say that it is universal and can be rotated at will by any number of points. After that, place the die on the table so that there is one point on the top side and five points on the side facing you.

Tap twice on the top side with one point and pick up the die, holding it with your index finger and thumb. The side with one point should be facing the audience, and the side with five points should be pressed to the thumb.

Turn your hand clockwise to show the other side of the cube. At the same time move your index finger back and your thumb forward, rotating the die clockwise to the next number. The more you turn your hand, the better this imperceptible movement will be hidden.

Show the audience two points and reverse the motion, showing one point again.

Place the dice on the table, turning it slightly so that the side with four points is facing you. Say that you need to turn the cube to the side with three points. Tap the cube three times. Take the die so that one point is visible, and the side with four points is pressed against the thumb. Make the same movements, showing the audience one point, then three points, and again one point.

Focus Universal Cube

Focus secret:

Using the principle of imperceptibly turning a dice, you can demonstrate to the audience any number of points available on it by tapping the top side of it the required number of times to create the desired effect.

I wanted, for example, that he showed four points - put the cube on the table so that the side with two points is facing you, perform the same manipulations with your fingers - you get four points, etc.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

CIGS solar modules from TSMC Solar 15.02.2013

TSMC Solar, a subsidiary of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), announced the launch of solar modules manufactured using CIGS technology on its own equipment, with a power conversion efficiency of 15,1%.

The modules have been certified by UL (Underwriters Laboratories) and TUV SUD, according to TSMC Solar. In addition, TSMC Solar has launched CIGS modules into mass production, but due to the volatility of the solar energy market, the company plans to focus not on expanding production capacity, but on improving the technology.

Solar cell manufacturers noted that over the past two years, due to oversupply, the market has been saturated with mono- and multi-crystalline solar modules, causing prices to collapse, creating an unfavorable environment for thin-film solar cells. In addition, there is growing demand for photovoltaic roofing systems in Europe, which means that consumers want higher energy conversion efficiency in a smaller area. In such a situation, thin-film systems lose because, compared to mono- or multi-crystalline solar cells, they have relatively low efficiency in the same area.

According to Ying-Chen Chao, president of TSMC Solar, the competitive advantage of CIGS technology lies in the fact that there are no limits to achieve higher conversion efficiency. In addition, Chao noted that thin-film products have a low cost and can withstand higher temperatures.
