EFFECTIVE FOCUSES AND THEIR CLUES Mystery tray. Focus Secret Directory / Spectacular tricks and their clues Focus Description: This trick consists in the fact that several small things taken directly from the spectators not only disappear from the hands of one of the spectators, but in some mysterious way end up on a tray covered with a cap and all the time in full view of the same spectators. Focus secret: The secret of the trick is in a painted tin tray with a diameter of about 30 cm. Between its upper and lower surfaces there is a space 2 cm high, into which a hole 7,5 cm wide leads imperceptibly, under the cover of a curved rim. There are two wire hooks inside the hole. With a slight pull on one of the hooks, you raise a small hammer on the surface of the tray, which is lowered by itself under the action of a spring. If you pull another hook, then the same movement is communicated to a special spoon rising from the surface of the tray. This spoon has a flat lid, loosely attached to its outer edge so that it opens with the things in it. If you put some thing in a spoon in advance and hold the appropriate hook, then this thing will end up on the tray by itself. On the opposite side of the lid of the spoon, a glass 7,5 cm high is placed on the tray, and the contents of the spoon fall directly into it. The tray is used in the following way: the audience is given a tin box 4 cm long and 2,5 cm deep with a request to put some small objects (for example, a coin, a ring, a key) into it. You don't know what things are in the drawer. For greater security, you wrap the box in a handkerchief and hand it over to someone in the audience for safekeeping. By wrapping the box, which is then handed over to the viewer, you actually replace it with the same box, sewn into one of the corners of the scarf. This second box contains two or three buttons or other objects that jingle when shaken. The replacement box is designed so that if you put on the lid and press a piece of cork inside, the ringing stops, but if you lift the lid a little, it starts again. In this state, the box is wrapped in a scarf. Leaving the replacement box wrapped at the viewer, retire for a minute behind the tray. This will allow you to take things out of the drawer, memorize them (e.g. coin, ring, key) and put them in the spoon. Now take out the glass and tray along with a cardboard or cloth cap. Show everyone that you have nothing in your hands, there is nothing on the tray and in the glass. Then put the diarrhea on the table and cover everything with a cap. The assistant takes the tray from the table and holds it with both hands, but in such a way that the right hand owns both hooks. Ask the viewer holding the box to shake it to show that things are still there: “I don’t know what things you put in the drawer. He was not in my hands for a single minute and remained all the time with the one who holds him now. Here is a small glass (the assistant raises the cap with his left hand) - it is completely empty. Now I will order the things in the box to go into this glass, and then I will guess by the sound which thing is falling. So, first thing! The assistant pulls the corresponding hook, and a small hammer strikes the glass, making a sound like a small thing falling into the glass. - Judging by the sound, it must be a coin. Second thing! The assistant again strikes the glass with a hammer. - It's a ring! Third thing! This time, the assistant pulls the other hook, causing the spoon to rise and throw three things together into the glass. - It's the key! Three things were placed in the box: a coin, a ring and a key. Now you will see that they are all in the glass. Remove the cap and show that they are really in a glass. - Can I ask you to shake the box again? Since your frequent reminders to hold the box tight have caused the holder to press the lid, nothing else rings in the box, confirming that the things have disappeared. - Now, by making things leave the box, I will also make the box itself disappear; and I will do it in front of everyone. Grasp one corner of the handkerchief. When I say "Three!", release the handkerchief. On the count of three, shake the handkerchief, quickly pass it through your hands until the corner (with the box) is in your hand and, as it were, disappears.
