Focus Description:

Going out to the audience with a beautiful wooden box, say that a whole set of "holes" of various sizes is hidden in it.

- Now I will show them to you, you just need to open the box. - Pat your pockets. - But where is the key? No problem!

And then tell the audience that you always carry a portable "hole" with you. Take it out of your pocket - it's something round, made like felt - and stick it to the box. Shake the box and a key will fall out of it. Touch the box with the key and the box will open (fig. a).

а

Take a couple of tiny "holes" out of the box and drop them into a glass of water. Holes will appear in it, from which water will pour out in streams.

- And these are "holes" for the fabric. - Show some larger "holes".

With these words, throw a handful of coins into your trouser pocket. Shake the pocket several times. Now throw in your pocket the demonstrated "holes". Shake it again - the coins will scatter around the stage with a ringing sound through the pocket. Open a bottle of water and drop the oblong "hole" taken out of the box into it. Close the bottle with a cork and turn it upside down. Water will pour out of a closed bottle.

After showing a series of tricks using "holes", collect the used items in a box, peel off a portable "hole" and throw it into the box as well. You won't have time to take even a couple of steps, as all your props will fall out on the floor through the bottom of the box.

- Ah! How did I forget - I put the main "hole" to the very bottom!

Focus secret:

For demonstration, you need a box with a lock,

"holes" of various sizes, cut out of various materials (plastic, felt) and other objects used in tricks.

The box does not have a real bottom, not counting the frame framing the edges, on which the board folding inwards rests - the bottom (Fig. b), so that objects spill out through the "bottom". This will happen if you press it from below: it will begin to fold up cone-shaped, and objects will easily slip through the holes formed on both sides. If such a bottom is released, it will lie back on the frame and take its original form.

In a transparent glass, from which water flows in streams, two small holes with a diameter of 3-4 mm are made one centimeter above the bottom opposite each other (Fig. c). When you pour water into the glass, close the holes with your fingers. Once you've dropped two "holes" into the glass to create the desired effect, open the holes and water will start pouring out of them.

The more water is poured into the glass, the stronger the jet will beat.

A handful of coins was located on the outside of the trouser pocket, and a rubber ring held it through the fabric (Fig. d). When the coins were about to fall out, you stretched the fabric and the coins came free from the elastic.

The bottle has two identical corks, one of which has a through hole (Fig. e).

This cork is in the box. First, flip the bottle with the real cork upside down to make sure that neither the bottle nor the cork has any secrets. Open the bottle and throw the cork into the box, and when you lower the oblong "hole" into the bottle, insert a replacement cork with a hole into it.

As for the appearance of the key, it could simply be stuck with plasticine, like a "hole", under the bottom of the box. It was worth sticking a portable "hole" harder, as he fell off. The audience had the impression that with the help of the "hole" the key passed through the bottom. The plot move with "holes" allows you to use a wide variety of props. There are plenty of "interpenetration" tricks described in detail as an example.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

Education influences life expectancy 14.02.2022

Based on data from an experiment that covered 31 European countries, scientists from the Vienna University of Economics and Business came to the conclusion that in countries where the population does not have equal access to higher education, representatives of social groups that do not have the opportunity to receive it live less than those with who has this opportunity.

This study confirmed the conclusion made in 2016 by the scientist Isaac Sasson. He found that college graduates outlived their less educated fellow Americans by an average of 10 years.

Moreover, within this group, the difference in the achieved life spans was observed to be the most insignificant.

More precisely, from the materials published by him on the website of the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) it follows that for educated women, the excess of the usual life expectancy was noted at the level of 9,3, and for men - at the level of 11,9 years.
