The metal detector works according to the beat method. It has two interchangeable searchcoils of different diameters 250mm and 500mm. With the help of the first coil, you can search for small, shallow metal objects (for example, a nail in a brick wall under a layer of plaster or wallpaper) and with the help of the second, deeper objects, for example, a 10 mm drill, the device notices from a distance of about 30 cm, and the cover hatch detects under a 1-meter layer of snow. A coin with a denomination of 5 rubles (modern "pyatak") is detected by the device from 12-15 cm.

There are two generators in the metal detector circuit - stable and search. The stable oscillator is made on a D1 chip, its frequency of 100 kHz is stabilized by a Q1 quartz resonator. The search generator is made on the D2 chip, its generation frequency is about 100 kHz and is determined by the parameters of the L1C2C3C4 circuit. The frequency of this circuit is strongly affected by the change in the inductance of the bulk coil L1 when located near non-metal objects. Since the parts of the device are metallic, so that they do not affect its operation, the coil is fixed at one end of a dielectric (wooden) rod 80 cm long, and the device itself is at its other end.

The signals in the element D3.1 are summed and the sum and difference frequency signals are formed at its output. The sum frequency signal is suppressed by the R7C8R8 circuit. The difference frequency signal (beat signal) is fed to the Schmitt trigger on the elements D3.2-D3.3, which changes its state with each half-cycle of the input signal. At the output of the Schmitt trigger, the pulse shaper on the C9-R10 circuit and the VT1 transistor is turned on. As a result of the operation of the Schmitt trigger and the pulse shaper, we can hear beats with a frequency not only from a few kilohertz to hundreds of hertz, but also low-frequency beats with a frequency of 1-10 Hz, which are reproduced by the B1 speaker as crackles (the sound resembles the crackle of a radiation dosimeter). This allows you to hear a very small deviation in the frequency of the search generator.

As already mentioned, the device works with two replaceable coils. Both coils have the same design, but different diameter and number of turns. A coil with a diameter of 250 mm is wound on a mandrel of the same diameter. Only 30 turns of PEV-0,61 wire. Then the coil is removed from the mandrel and the resulting annular bundle is tightly wrapped with a rope coil to coil (the rope is laid like ferrite rings are wound). Then the coil is wrapped with a thin foil tape, but not over the entire surface, but in such a way that in the part opposite to the coil leads, an unshielded section of about 10 mm long remains. Then tightly wrapped with several layers of PVC electrical tape. Do not use metal parts in the coil mount.

The second coil has a similar design, but its diameter is 500 mm, and the number of turns is 21.

For rigidity, the coils are fixed on crosses connected from rails with the help of a rope glued with epoxy glue.

Capacitor C2 - three-section with an air dielectric 6-360 pF, all sections are connected in parallel. B1 - any speaker.

The adjustment consists in tuning the L1C3C4C2 circuit (using the selection of C3 and C4) so that, at an approximately average position of C2, a very low sound tone can be achieved, with further adjustment of C2, turning into rare crackles.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Axiomtek AIE100-903-FL-NX Compact System 28.12.2020

Axiomtek has launched a compact AIE100-903-FL-NX system designed to solve the so-called smart city edge AI tasks that require high performance. It is based on the "single-board supercomputer" Nvidia Jetson Xavier NX, built on a single-chip system with six Nvidia Carmel processor cores on the Arm architecture and the Volta accelerator with 384 CUDA cores and 48 tensor cores.

The AIE100-903-FL-NX is equipped with an HDMI 2.0 video output, a USB 3.1 Gen 2 port and two Gigabit Ethernet ports, one of which supports PoE and can provide power up to 15W. The built-in 16GB eMMC can be upgraded with an M.2 PCIe x4 SSD and a microSD card. Expansion options are provided by the Mini PCIe slot, where USB and PCIe signals are output. In addition, there is a slot for a SIM card.

Depending on the application area, the passively cooled system with IP40 degree of protection is designed for round-the-clock operation in the temperature range from -30°С to +50°С. Its dimensions are 147,4 x 129,8 x 34,6 mm.
