Focus Description:

Give the viewer a business card and have them sign it. Take a small envelope lying on top of a paperback book, insert a card into it and seal the envelope. Set this envelope aside in a conspicuous place. Open the book and show that inside it there is a large sealed envelope between the pages. Take it out and put it near the small envelope.

After that, take and tear into small pieces a small envelope. Then open the large envelope and take out the same business card with the viewer's signature, which "has just been torn to pieces."

Focus secret:

In a small envelope on the front side, not visible to the audience, a cut was made for the business card to come out. The cover of the book has exactly the same cut.

Place a large sealed envelope inside the book. Place a small envelope on the cover of the book so that both cuts match, and you can start the demonstration. When inserting a business card into an envelope, actually shove it through both slits under the cover of the book. Seal the empty envelope, remove it from the book and, as if there is a business card inside it, set it aside with the cut down.

Focus Mystery Card

Open the book and show that it contains another envelope - a large one. Taking it out of the book, take the business card out of the book together with it, but so that it is under the envelope - on the back, not visible to the audience. Without turning the other side of this envelope, place it, along with the business card underneath, close to the small envelope.

Focus Mystery Card

Now tear into small pieces a small envelope supposedly with a business card inside. After that, take a large envelope with a business card under it and, without turning the envelope on the other side, open it by tearing off one of the side parts with your free hand.

While pretending to be pulling out a business card from the inside, you are actually pulling it sharply out from behind the envelope. It will seem to the audience that you took it out of the envelope itself, and they will be quite surprised.

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

The threat of space debris to the Earth's magnetic field 01.05.2024

More and more often we hear about an increase in the amount of space debris surrounding our planet. However, it is not only active satellites and spacecraft that contribute to this problem, but also debris from old missions. The growing number of satellites launched by companies like SpaceX creates not only opportunities for the development of the Internet, but also serious threats to space security. Experts are now turning their attention to the potential implications for the Earth's magnetic field. Dr. Jonathan McDowell of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics emphasizes that companies are rapidly deploying satellite constellations, and the number of satellites could grow to 100 in the next decade. The rapid development of these cosmic armadas of satellites can lead to contamination of the Earth's plasma environment with dangerous debris and a threat to the stability of the magnetosphere. Metal debris from used rockets can disrupt the ionosphere and magnetosphere. Both of these systems play a key role in protecting the atmosphere and maintaining ... >>

Solidification of bulk substances 30.04.2024

There are quite a few mysteries in the world of science, and one of them is the strange behavior of bulk materials. They may behave like a solid but suddenly turn into a flowing liquid. This phenomenon has attracted the attention of many researchers, and we may finally be getting closer to solving this mystery. Imagine sand in an hourglass. It usually flows freely, but in some cases its particles begin to get stuck, turning from a liquid to a solid. This transition has important implications for many areas, from drug production to construction. Researchers from the USA have attempted to describe this phenomenon and come closer to understanding it. In the study, the scientists conducted simulations in the laboratory using data from bags of polystyrene beads. They found that the vibrations within these sets had specific frequencies, meaning that only certain types of vibrations could travel through the material. Received ... >>

Energy storage and redistribution system for home electrical networks 14.07.2014

Delta Electronics, a global provider of power management and thermal management solutions, has launched a new BESS (Battery Energy Storage Solution). This energy-saving solution is designed to work with renewable energy sources in the smart home network. With it, you can reduce energy costs or optimally redistribute them over time, according to the company.

The aim of developing this innovative energy storage system was to optimize the energy balance in smart home grids. The system serves as a kind of "reservoir", which accumulates electricity generated during the day by photovoltaic cells. The stored energy is then used to run household electrical appliances at night, and its surplus can be returned to the power grid, Delta Electronics explained.

The use of the new Delta Electronics solution as a whole allows to reduce peak loads on the network, as well as increase the efficiency of renewable energy sources, including existing solar cells mounted on rooftops. In addition, by redistributing the load over time and avoiding high daily tariffs, monthly energy costs are reduced.

"With our BESS solution, smart home owners can reduce their energy bills," said Jackie Chang, president and CEO of Delta EMEA. using solar energy. This is Delta's new contribution to the creation of a smart and green living environment."

As noted, the energy storage and redistribution system developed by Delta is highly flexible due to its modular design, which allows you to build the optimal configuration for a wide variety of consumers. The home BESS system consists entirely of Delta components: rectifier, charger, microinverter, lithium-ion battery, controller, sensor module. The system can be controlled remotely using a mobile device. Delta's new BESS system will go on sale in 2015.
