Currently, radio amateurs are increasingly faced with the need to repair imported radios. One of the reasons for their frequent failure is the malfunction of the loop coils. As statistics show, it takes second place after the breakdown of all kinds of switches. Although the marking of modern imported contour coils seems to be unified, it is very difficult to find information about it in the popular literature. It seems that the material I offer, obtained on the basis of the repair of inexpensive radio receivers and radio tape recorders from Aiwa, Panasonic, Sharp, as well as some unmarked Chinese-made models, will be useful to radio amateurs.

Most often, contour coils with dimensions of 10x10x14 mm and 8x8x11 mm are used in radio receivers (Fig. 1). All windings are usually wound in bulk with enameled wire with a diameter of 0,05 ... 0,12 mm on a ferrite magnetic core glued to a plastic base. The contour coils are wound over the coupling coils and filled with paraffin. The trimmer is a ferrite pot, which has a thread on the outer surface and a slot for a screwdriver. The entire circuit is enclosed in a brass screen. The circuits used in the IF paths have built-in capacitors.

The color marking of the coils is spots or stripes of paint applied respectively to the bottom of the magnetic core or to the screen. Schemes of loop coils are shown in fig. 2.

The table shows the winding data, purpose, capacity of the built-in capacitor and color coding of coils with dimensions of 10x10x14 mm. Loop coils with dimensions of 8x8x11 mm have the same purpose and capacity of the built-in capacitor, but their windings can be wound with thinner wire and contain a larger number of turns. These coils are less maintainable than 10x10x14 mm coils.

1) Can be used instead of blue and green. In this case, the 4-6 coupling coil is not connected to the board.

3) The number of turns depends on the capacity of the KPI. The ratio of the number of turns of the windings of the contour coil and the coupling coil is selected within 10:1-8:1.
