Directory / Spectacular tricks and their clues
Comments on the article
Focus Description:
The magician opens an umbrella and holds it in one hand. In the other he takes a small ball. The artist begins to rotate the umbrella and lowers the ball onto its dome. Against expectation, the ball will not fall, but will roll on the surface of the dome.
Focus secret:
To demonstrate the focus, you need a small, light ball (for example, for ping-pong). A small piece of black thread is tied to the upper end of the umbrella above the dome. A ball is attached to the other end of the thread.
Demonstrating the trick, take the umbrella with one hand and hold the balloon with the other. Having opened the umbrella, throw the ball on its dome and begin to rotate the umbrella. An invisible thread will keep the ball from falling.

Artificial leather for touch emulation
15.04.2024
In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men
14.04.2024
The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>
Random news from the Archive Proven deadly harm from electronic cigarettes
02.05.2020
Specialists from Boston University (USA) studied the functions of blood vessels in smokers and users of electronic cigarettes and vapes. More than 400 men and women aged 21 to 45 were monitored, who were either smokers or switched from cigarettes to vapes. Analysis of arterial cell samples showed approximately the same results in participants in both groups - increased stiffness of the vascular wall and damage to small blood vessels.
In particular, the described cell samples of nicotine-dependent individuals contained fewer nitric oxide molecules than those of people who had never smoked. This compound is necessary for the regulation of respiration, maintenance of the immune status, and is involved in cardiovascular homeostasis. Experts stressed that cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death among smokers. Also, many cigarette users are switching to the use of vapes with thoughts of reducing the negative impact on the body.
The conclusion states that there is no evidence that the use of e-cigarettes reduces the risk of getting cardiovascular diseases or reduces the harm caused by tobacco combustion products. Scientists stressed that in terms of caring for the heart, vaping cannot be considered as a safe alternative to smoking.
