Using a magnet you can make a funny running mouse. It is better to take a magnet in the form of a horseshoe. You will also need a cardboard cake box. A piece of plywood with a wooden bench nailed on top is inserted into it." This is clearly visible in the figure.

Prepare the parts of the bench: two lumps and a “seat”. Select a nail 1,0-1,5 cm long less than the height of the box. Using another nail, a thicker one, punch a neat hole in the center of the seat. You have to punch it on the board. Using the same thick nail, punch a hole in the small plywood that will be under the bench. Pin the bench to the large plywood, and nail the small one at the bottom, in the middle. It is necessary that a long nail inserted into the hole of the bench should hit the bottom end into the hole of the lower, small plywood, and at the same time stand straight.

Under the magnet you need another thicker piece of plywood. First, hammer a long nail into this plywood so that it goes right up to the head, and then place a magnet on top and tie it with threads or glue it with strips of insulating tape. Insert the nail with the magnet into place and wrap a strong thread on its lower part, under the bench. Pull the end. The nail should rotate, and with it the table with the magnet.

Little mouse with big relatives

The mouse is just a light ball of gray fur with a tail. Attach a steel pen, a paper clip or a piece of tin to it from below. Place the lid on the box. The magnet should rotate under the lid itself, almost touching it. Make a hole in the side of the lid and let the end of the thread through it. Place the mouse on top of the box, just above the magnet poles.

Well, we can start. Pull the thread gently. The table with the magnet will spin and the mouse will run in a circle! It won't be visible from the outside what makes her run. After all, the box is closed. You can glue a house with two doors onto a box - the mouse will enter one door and exit the other.

The mouse is small, but her relatives are very large and respectable. Almost all the electric motors there are in the world! More precisely, the so-called asynchronous AC motors. They were invented by the wonderful Russian electrical engineer Mikhail Osipovich Dolivo-Dobrovolsky.

Little mouse with big relatives

In an asynchronous electric motor, the table with a magnet does not rotate. There's an electromagnet inside. It is motionless, but its windings are made so cleverly that when you turn on the current, you get a magnetic wave. And this wave keeps running, running in a circle, again and again, like the pole of a spinning magnet in our toy. It is she who drags and leads the engine rotor - its rotating part - like a mouse, a small mouse made of gray wool!

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

LAUNCHXL-CC2650 BLE/ZigBee/6LoWPAN Development Board for IoT 15.11.2016

The new SimpleLink CC2650 Wireless MCU LaunchPad Kit is designed for developing IoT applications. The board has a multi-standard CC2650 microcontroller, which allows you to use LAUNCHXL-CC2650 to develop projects for CC2640 (Bluetooth Low Energy) and CC2630 (ZigBee/6LoWPAN) chips.

Unlike the CC2650STK demo kit, this board has an XDS110 programmer, which is used to download programs to the CC2650F128RGZR chip installed on the board. The programmer can also be used to program any external system based on CC13xx/CC26xx chips.

Initially, the LAUNCHXL-CC2650 is loaded with a demo firmware that interacts with the free "SimpleLink Starter" BLE app for iOS or Android smartphones. On a smartphone, you can view the signal strength and status of the board buttons, control the LEDs and update the board software "over-the-air" (Over-The-Air / OTA). The user can also view board status information from anywhere in the world via the IBM cloud server. For local control, service messages are provided, which are output via the UART. An optional display can be connected, available as an expansion board 430BOOST-SHARP96 (purchased separately).

For the fastest possible start, a developer can use the CCS Cloud development environment. Compiling and loading the initial BLE project Project.0 is done directly from the WEB browser. For more advanced IoT projects, you can use the projects included with the TI BLE-Stack Software Development Kit and develop in Code Composer Studio or IAR Embedded Workbench.
