To begin with, another experiment with a coin. Cut a strip one and a half centimeters wide from a sheet of notebook, glue a ring out of it and place it vertically on the neck of an empty milk bottle. Put a dime on top so that it falls exactly over the hole.

Some more experiments with inertia

Now insert a stick or ruler inside the ring. Hit the ring in a horizontal direction as hard as possible. The ring will fly off to the side, but the dime... Will it stay in place? Of course not, it will fall into the bottle. And yet this is inertia: after all, the dime did not fly away with the ring. And what fell down, there's nothing you can do about it. Hryvnias can't float in the air.

An interesting experience can be done with dominoes. Only the bones should be made of plastic: wooden ones do not glide enough.

Put two dominoes "on the butt" and cover them with another one on top to make a gate. Put another one on the top bone, and build the second gate on top. With sufficient dexterity, you can knock out the first bone covering the lower gate without ruining the entire building.

Some more experiments with inertia

Consider the drawing carefully. In front of the entire structure, another bone is placed on edge AB. By inserting a finger into the lower gate and pressing it on the corner D, you can make this bone rise quickly so that its edge AB takes the position AB. Then the corner G will hit the lower bone covering the gate. If the blow is sharp and strong enough, the bone will fly out in the direction of arrow E, and the top floor of the building will fall without falling apart!

You already knocked out coin postcard. With a strong enough click, you can knock it out from under the chicken egg. Put the postcard on a glass half filled with water, and put a key ring on top and put an egg on it.

Some more experiments with inertia

Click - and an egg in a glass!

I don't doubt your skill. But still, it’s better to take an egg not raw, but hard-boiled.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Digital actor 23.09.2008

The University of Southern California (USA) has created an installation for "digitizing" living people.

A man standing under a dome in the center of a rotating platform is illuminated from all sides by 6666 LEDs, with computers changing the direction of the light thousands of times per second. The picture is recorded by video cameras and then analyzed by a computer, which creates a moving model of a person on the monitor screen.

The unit is used for shooting special effects in films when an actor or stuntman cannot be subjected to too severe tests. In addition, the model of the actor saved in the computer can play without his participation in any films.
