The YES-97 transceiver uses a broadband power amplifier based on two KT931A transistors. Based on the UY5DJ amplifier, published in the magazine "Radio" No. 2-88 on p. 21. Minor improvements were made in it, which affected only certain sections of the scheme.

New quiescent current stabilizers for output transistors have been introduced. Cascades on KT626 transistors act as current generators, providing stabilization of the base current of KT931A transistors, regardless of the ambient temperature. At the same time, KT626 transistors provide an additional, no less important function of amplifiers in the negative feedback circuit of the output transistors. The use of a sufficiently deep OOS makes it possible to obtain a high linearity of the amplifier when operating in a wide range of output powers - from minimum to maximum.

Thermal compensation of the output transistors is provided by the properties of the transistors themselves. It is known that the base-emitter junctions of KT931 transistors (any transistors, approx. RW3AY) are diodes, which in themselves can be good sensors for the temperature of a powerful transistor crystal. Given that the current flowing through the diode is stable, as the temperature increases, the voltage drop across the diode decreases, which, in turn, will lead to a decrease in the base and, accordingly, the collector quiescent current of a powerful transistor. In practice, it turned out that the quiescent current thermal compensation circuit used is so good that no additional thermal coupling of any circuit elements with the output transistor cases is required.

The amplifier was checked and tested using a two-frequency method in the middle of the 20-meter range at a frequency of 14150 kHz, which shows that the power at the peak of the envelope at a load of 50 ohms reaches 100 W, and the level of mutual modulation does not exceed -45 dB.

The power amplifier has a large gain. To provide an output power of 100 W, the maximum input signal level does not exceed 150 mW with an input impedance of the amplifier of 50 ohms.

Actually the design of the amplifier has not undergone any changes. The preamplifier (driver) is assembled according to a push-pull circuit on transistors KT610 and 2xKT904. High-frequency broadband transformers T1 ... T3 completely repeat those from the UY5DJ amplifier, their design and winding data have not changed.

The amplifier circuit has an ALC that maintains a constant output signal and its high quality over a wide range of loads. For experimental purposes, at full output power, the antenna was repeatedly turned off and shorted. The amplifier successfully withstood such "bullying", which characterizes its rather high operational reliability.

The printed circuit board of the transceiver is made of double-sided foil fiberglass 110x80 mm. The foil on all sides of the board is preserved. The tracks are cut with a cutter. Metal tracks, marked with a smooth line, are located on the inside, and with straight lines - on the outside. The appearance of the printed circuit board is shown from the side of the details.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Terra 360 Ultra-Speed Charging for Electric Vehicles 17.10.2021

The Swedish company ABB has announced the start of commercial production of the ultra-fast charging station for electric vehicles Terra 360. The maximum power of the model is 360 kW, which allows you to fully charge the battery of an average electric vehicle in 15 minutes and add 100 km of mileage in just 3 minutes.

ABB launches 360kW Terra 360 ultra-fast electric vehicle charger, expected to be installed in Europe as early as 2021

Thanks to the modular design of the power units and dynamic power distribution, one ABB Terra 360 station can simultaneously charge four electric vehicles, while the average charging time will only increase to 30-40 minutes - during which time the driver can visit a shopping center or have a leisurely bite to eat. Due to its characteristics, this station can also be used by business customers with a fleet of electric vehicles (delivery, taxi, car sharing).

Each charge is equipped with an LED indication of operating modes, as well as a screen displaying the current charge power, battery status (SoC) and the time until the end of charging. Optionally, a 27-inch display can be installed in the station to play advertisements and other useful information.

The manufacturer will begin deliveries of ABB Terra 360 charging stations to European markets at the end of 2021, while the novelty will reach the USA, Latin America and Asia in 2022. The company noted that it entered the electric transport market back in 2010 and to date has sold 460 electric vehicle chargers in 88 global markets, including 21 high-speed DC charging stations (including for partner networks IONITY and Electrify America ) and 440 thousand AC stations.
