Chinese electronics will be assembled in the US 15.12.2012

Chinese manufacturer Lenovo plans to start assembling desktops and laptops in America in the near future. According to industrial sources of the Digitimes resource, the production capacity of the constructed line will be small, but it will be quite enough to fulfill government orders and supplies for the corporate segment.

In line with the trend towards growth in total in-house manufacturing, Lenovo has built five factories in China. However, the company has two plants outside the country - in Mexico and India. In the near future, it is also planned to build factories for the production of computer equipment in Sao Paulo (Brazil) and North Carolina (USA). Sources also do not rule out the possibility of the Chinese company building factories in Germany and Canada. If we talk about own production, then its share in the total volume of manufactured products by Lenovo, according to sources, is expected to increase from 20% in 2012 to 50% in 2013.

According to IDC, Lenovo ranked second in the enterprise desktop market in the third quarter, with a market share of 18,4%. Market leader Hewlett-Packard (HP) has 19,3%. And in the production of laptops for the corporate segment, Lenovo is a confident leader with a market share of 22,3%.
