The UHF electrical circuit diagram is shown in Figure 1. The preamplifier is intended for use as part of a portable radio receiver using a short piece of copper wire with a diameter of 2 mm as an antenna. The bandwidth of the amplifier is 100 kHz ... 50 MHz, which allows you to get a good value of effective sensitivity in a wide frequency range.
Fig.1. circuit diagram
The bandwidth indicated above is obtained due to the fact that the transistor VT1 has a galvanic (direct) connection with the second transistor of the amplifier. Negative feedback between stages is carried out through resistors R4, R6. In the absence of negative feedback, UHF has a sufficiently large transmission coefficient, so the actual transmission coefficient will be determined by the ratio of the resistances of resistors R6, R4. It is advisable to use a separate DC source (battery) to power the amplifier.

Artificial leather for touch emulation
15.04.2024
In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>
Petgugu Global cat litter
15.04.2024
Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>
The attractiveness of caring men
14.04.2024
The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>
Random news from the Archive X-ray revealed battery problem
03.08.2012
With the help of X-ray microscopy, scientists from Stanford University for the first time managed to understand why lithium-sulfur batteries constantly break down. It turned out that the problem lies in the improperly organized process of a chemical reaction.
Most modern electric vehicles use lithium-ion batteries - very expensive, accounting for half the cost of the entire car. One of the most promising replacements for the expensive and not very capacious lithium-ion power source are lithium-sulfur batteries. They not only cost less, but they can also store 5 times more energy. However, all experiments with a new battery end disappointingly: after several dozen charge / discharge cycles, it stops working. Naturally, this is very little - a car battery should have a service life of 10-20 years, i.e. withstand many thousands of charge/discharge cycles.
A lithium-sulfur battery consists of two electrodes - a lithium anode and a sulfur-carbon cathode. Several researchers have concluded that the battery's short life cycle is due to chemical reactions that break down the sulfur in the cathode. However, the new study disproved the findings of previous experiments. With the help of a powerful X-ray source, for the first time, it was possible to capture the smallest details of the battery directly in the process of operation. As a result, it turned out that the sulfur particles in the cathode do not degrade.
The problem lay in the process of the reaction of lithium ions with sulfur when the battery was discharged. The by-product of this chemical reaction are compounds known as lithium polysulfides. They seep into the electrolyte and form strong bonds with the lithium. As a result, the active medium is destroyed and the battery stops working.
Fortunately, it turned out that the sulfur in the battery is destroyed very weakly and this is not the cause of the malfunction. On the other hand, even a small amount of lithium polysulfides is enough for the battery to begin to fail. But, according to scientists, such a problem can be dealt with by preventing the leakage of polysulfides into the electrolyte.
