VHF receivers with frequency modulation and therefore a low level of atmospheric and man-made interference, have high sound quality. A set of radio components allows you to assemble a VHF FM receiver based on the KS1066XA1 chip (analogous to the TDA-7000 from Philips). The microcircuit includes a silent tuning regulator that opens the audio frequency path only when there is a signal from the received station.

An electronic device based on the KB121A varicap allows you to cover the domestic (65,8-73,0 MHz) or foreign (88,0 - 108,0 MHz) VHF bands. The output of the receiver is in good agreement with any low-frequency amplifier with an input impedance of at least 22 kOhm (amplifiers for m / s K174UN7, K174UN14, etc.). Connecting the VHF receiver through headphones is shown in Figure 1, and to the amplifier on the K174UN14 m / s in Figure 2. When the amplifier supply voltage is above 4,5 volts, power the VHF receiver through a parametric stabilizer. A stereo decoder can be connected to the output of the radio receiver and thus be able to receive stereo broadcasts.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Key quantum security technology on a single chip 30.10.2021

Toshiba Europe announced the world's first Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) system-on-a-chip. This achievement will make it possible to apply quantum security technologies that are protected from future generations of supercomputers in the widest range of scenarios, including solutions for the "last miles" and the Internet of Things (IoT).

Miniaturizing the optical circuits used for QKDs and quantum random number generators (QRNGs) and integrating them into tiny semiconductor chips not only makes them much smaller and lighter than fiber optic counterparts, but also reduces power consumption.

It is especially important that such quantum devices can be manufactured in large quantities in parallel, on a single semiconductor wafer, using standard semiconductor industry technologies. For example, quantum transmitter chips developed by Toshiba have dimensions of only 2 × 6 mm, so several hundred such devices can be obtained from one plate at once.

The global QKD market is projected to grow to around $20 billion in fiscal year 2035. Major quantum-protected fiber networks are currently under construction in Europe and Southeast Asia, and there are plans to launch satellites that could expand these networks to a global level.

In October 2020, Toshiba launched two fiber QKD products built around discrete optical components. Together with project partners, Toshiba has deployed quantum-secure metro networks and long-distance fiber backbones in the UK, Europe, the US and Japan.
