ENCYCLOPEDIA OF RADIO ELECTRONICS AND ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING Miracle burner. Encyclopedia of radio electronics and electrical engineering Encyclopedia of radio electronics and electrical engineering / Ham Radio Technologies I offer a burner that runs on liquid fuel - diesel fuel. It is also possible to use various used technical oils diluted to a more liquid state with diesel fuel. I think that such a burner will be useful to many in the household, especially rural residents - as a hearth for preparing hot food for pets or in summer, when many villagers arrange summer kitchens for themselves right on the street. Suitable for heating stoves, "heaters" in the baths. It is very convenient when repairing and performing roofing work, as well as in many other cases when there is no other source of thermal energy. The burner will also suit summer residents - for temporary heating of the house. It is important that with a small fuel consumption, it creates a high combustion temperature, and when fully heated, the fuel at the burner burns completely, with little smoke. It is not difficult to make such a burner on your own. The material is waste steel water pipes with a diameter of 0.5", which can be found in scrap metal or purchased at the Building Materials store. You will need 2 - 2,5 meters of them.
Look carefully at the picture, and you will understand the device of the burner. We bend the nozzle in a round or rectangular shape. If it is not possible to bend, we make butt joints by sawing the pipe blanks with a hacksaw. All connections are made by gas or electric welding (now there is hardly a craftsman who does not have a welding machine and does not have the skills to work with it). Along the perimeter of the nozzle, we drill holes - "nozzles" with a diameter of 0,5 - 1,5 mm, at intervals of 30 - 50 mm. It should be noted that the fuel consumption and combustion intensity depend on the diameter of these holes. We also drill two holes with a diameter of 8 - 10 mm to connect the nozzle to the burner storage. The accumulator is made from a piece of pipe with a larger diameter of 70 - 120 mm or rolled up from a steel strip. It serves to receive and heat fuel, which at the same time turns into steam and exits through the "nozzle" holes, mixing with air under pressure, it burns out. Any metal barrel, canister, tank from decommissioned equipment is suitable for fuel. A tap with a fitting is mounted on the tank for fixing a rubber hose, which serves as a fuel line to the burner. The tank is installed on a hill so as not to complicate the device by forced fuel supply. The start of the burner consists in the fact that you first need to heat up the storage tank with fuel. To do this, it is enough to open the fuel supply valve and light the torch under the storage tank. As it warms up, the fuel coming out of the holes will also catch fire. Then, when fully heated, the burner will reach the peak of combustion and will work like this until the fuel supply stops due to its end or the shutdown of the fuel supply valve. The intensity of combustion is regulated by the fuel supply valve and the height of the fuel tank. After starting the burner, it does not require constant monitoring of it - you can do other work. Of course, during operation, one should not forget about elementary fire safety rules, for example, operate the burner away from flammable objects. Place the fuel tank as far away from the burner flame as possible. Author: N. Logachev, Kursk See other articles Section Ham Radio Technologies. Read and write useful comments on this article.
