The block diagram of the conversion of the R-326M receiver for operation in the transceiver mode is shown in fig. 1. As a result of the analysis of the RPU data, it turned out to be possible to abandon the use of IF-2 in the SSB signal generation path, but in order to combine the passbands, it is necessary to use the same type of EMF in the receive and transmit paths.

The 500 kHz signal is taken either from a smooth 500 kHz generator (in the case of using EMF-500S), or from a 500 kHz crystal oscillator (EMF-500N; EMF-500V). In the second variant, the frequency meter readings coincide with the frequency of the suppressed carrier, but 4 EMFs have to be applied (two in the receiving part, two in the shaper). It is possible to use only one (two) EMF with switching from RX mode to TX mode using two additional relays. All relays are located in compartments directly next to the switching points. Interblock connections are made with a thin MGFTE cable. When establishing, it is necessary to strictly control the DSB voltage supplied to CM1, due to the low voltage of the quartz local oscillator (210; 3300 kHz). The TX amplifier on KT610 and the push-pull emitter follower KT904, KT914 are made according to standard schemes.

The necessary alterations of the matching stage (U8) and the first mixer (IR2.206.004) are shown in Fig.2. Connections shown in dotted lines should be removed.

The introduction of RF gain control is shown in Figure 3. Resistors R1 are removed from amplifiers U2, U2, and a control voltage is applied to gates T2 through contacts K2.1.

To remake the RPU, I advise you to carefully study the technical description and diagrams of the radio receiver.

In conclusion, I express my deep gratitude to Andrey (RU4AA) for his help in developing and establishing this design.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

Schneider Electric Uniflair Cooling for Large Data Centers 22.05.2022

Schneider Electric has announced a new series of Uniflair inverter screw chillers for large data centers that provide efficiency, accuracy and customization to adapt to current and future data center cooling needs.

Large air-cooled, free-cooling chillers provide increased cooling capacity and lower energy consumption for high energy efficiency under all environmental conditions. Uniflair screw chillers are among the first solutions for low Global Warming Potential (GWP) refrigerants.

"Uniflair's latest chillers are designed with sustainability in mind and provide businesses with significant energy efficiency and reliability even in challenging environments. Through the use of environmentally friendly refrigerants combined with reduced energy consumption, this offering highlights Schneider's commitment to purposeful innovation and sustainability, and gives customers the ability to adapt for the future." " said Pankaj Pathak, director of cooling systems, Secure Power, Schneider Electric.

Schneider's latest 300-2200kW Uniflair chillers feature significant improvements to highly efficient and reliable data center cooling and enhance the current platform with new sizes and configurations.

In addition to driving data center sustainability through innovation, Schneider Electric reaffirmed its commitment to working with the industry as a member of the coalition that established the Infrastructure Mason Climate Accord. Climate Deal Infrastructure Mason (iMason), a non-profit professional association that brought together a historic cooperative of over 50 companies including AWS, Microsoft and Google to reduce the carbon footprint of digital infrastructure materials, products and power.

The mission of this agreement is to standardize global carbon accounting in digital infrastructure, influencing market decisions to encourage the industry to achieve carbon neutrality.
