Ad-Hoc - stations interact directly with each other

Infrastructure - stations interact with each other not directly, but through an access point. It is IMPOSSIBLE to combine WIRED networks using infrastructure mode!!!

Point to point (Bridge) - All computers are connected to a WIRED network. APs are also on a wired network, but they are connected to each other via RADIO. This mode is designed to combine WIRED networks. Connecting wireless clients to an AP operating in bridge mode is IMPOSSIBLE!

Point-to multipoint - A variation of Point to point is used to combine more than 2 networks. This mode is designed to combine WIRED networks. Connecting wireless clients to an AP operating in bridge mode is IMPOSSIBLE!

Client Point - In this mode, the AP acts as a wireless adapter and can connect to an AP running in infrastructure mode. But only ONE can be connected to it!!! address.

Repeater. The AP simply extends the range of another AP operating in infrastructure mode. In this mode, the Ethernet interface does not work.

How many users can be connected to wireless access points?

A wireless access point is a normal hub. With multiple connections to the same point, the bandwidth, for example 11 Mbps (802.11b standard), is divided by the number of connected users. For example, three users connected to the DWL-1000AP will each receive 3,67 Mbps (11/3=3,67). Theoretically, there are no restrictions on the number of connections, but in practice it is worth limiting yourself to 10-15 users.

What is an Access Point?

An Access Point is a "transparent" bridge that provides access to stations equipped with wireless network cards to computers connected to a network using wires. With the help of Access Points, wireless workstations can be networked very quickly. Required in all modes of wireless networks except Ad-Hoc mode. IP addresses are issued for administrative convenience only. Acts as a "wireless hub", i.e. bandwidth is divided by the number of clients currently connected.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Artificial intelligence received copyright 02.03.2023

The United States Copyright Office (USCO) has made a decision on a comic created using the Midjourney neural network. Representatives of the department said that the copyright of the artist Kris Kashtanova on the comic "Dawn of the Dawn" (Zarya of the Dawn) applies only to the part of the book that the writer wrote and designed herself. The images generated by Midjourney are owned by AI.

The Copyright Office intends to reissue the book registration, where it excludes images that are not the product of human authorship. The agency accepted that Kashtanova "is the author of the text of the work, as well as the selection, coordination and organization of textual and visual elements." However, not all images presented in the comic "are the product of human authorship."

In September, photographer Chris Kashtanova announced that she had received the copyright for the Dawn of Dawn comic book, which she wrote with the help of Midjourney. However, a few months later, USCO withdrew its decision, emphasizing that Kashtanova's work with AI had been misinterpreted earlier.

"We must defend copyright, even if we use artificial intelligence in our work," the artist emphasized.

The Dawn of Dawn comic isn't the only AI co-authored work that caused controversy. So Ammaar Reshi, an employee of the fintech company Brex, created the children's book Alice and Sparkle using artificial intelligence. When the book went on sale, Reshi faced a flurry of criticism on social media and even death threats.
