This two-transistor circuit is called a "mini-radio". It uses only two transistors and few passive components, making this circuit easy to build. And although this circuit is very simple, nevertheless it works quite well even without an external antenna and ground. Transistor T1 works as a high-frequency amplifier with adjustable feedback, while simultaneously acting as a detector. The sensitivity of the receiver depends on the position of the potentiometer R1, which controls the amount of feedback.

Transistor radio for AM band

The detected signal comes from the collector of transistor T1 to the base of a low-frequency amplifier made on transistor T2. To prevent the residual detection products from entering the input of this amplifier, capacitor C3 is used, so that only a low-frequency signal is fed to the base of transistor T2. The amplified low-frequency signal is fed to the headphones included in the collector circuit of the transistor T2 through the separating capacitor C5, which prevents the passage of the constant component.

The magnetic antenna coil is wound on a ferrite rod with an initial magnetic permeability of 2000, with a diameter of 10 mm and a length of 10 cm, it contains two windings of 5 and 60 turns, connected in series, wound with copper enameled wire PEV-0,2 or similar. The conductors leading to this coil should be as short as possible.

The circuit can use transistors of the 2SC3112, 2SC2675, KT3102V, KT3102E series. Headphones must have an impedance of 32 ohms or more, if loud-speaking reception is required, then you can use some kind of low-frequency amplifier, made for example, on operational amplifiers.

If you connect an external antenna to this receiver, then its sensitivity will increase significantly. To do this, a capacitor with a capacitance of 4,7 pF is connected to the upper output according to the circuit.

The radio receiver is powered by a 9 V battery, while the current consumption is 1 mA.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Acer to release 27-inch IPS panel monitor 07.10.2012

Acer has announced the launch of the S275HL monitor in the European market, based on a 27-inch IPS panel with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The novelty will go on sale in November and will be offered at a price of 329 euros.

The asymmetric design of the Acer S275HL with the leg of the stand shifted to the right looks unusual, but such a design cannot be called new: Samsung 3 series 950D monitors, released back in March 2011, can boast of a similar exterior. At the same time, a very thin body of the device is noted, the thickness of which is 15 mm.

The characteristics of the LCD monitor panel are as follows: brightness - 260 cd/m100, dynamic contrast ratio - 000:000, pixel response time - 1 ms. The claimed power consumption of the monitor in standby mode is 6 watts, and in operation mode it is 0,5 watts.

Acer gave the S275HL two HDMI ports and one D-Sub, as well as two speakers with a total output of 3W.
