5.4.59. The requirements given in 5.4.60 - 5.4.69 apply to cranes with voltages above 1 kV and are additional to the requirements given above in this chapter.

5.4.60. Electrical equipment above 1 kV, located on cranes both openly and in electrical rooms, must be carried out in accordance with the requirements of Ch. 4.2.

5.4.61. Sectioning, installation of repair cars and light signaling on the main crane trolls are not required.

5.4.62. The clear distance between the main trolleys and the crane shall be at least 1,5 m horizontally (for the exception see 5.4.63 and 5.4.64). When the main trolleys are located above the crane platforms, on which people can be during operation or during the repair of the crane, the trolleys must be located at a height of at least 3 m from the platform level, and the platform must be fenced from above with a net.

5.4.63. The platform for installation of current collectors of the main trolleys must have a fence with a door (hatch). The horizontal distance from the main zip lines to this square should be at least 0,7 m.

5.4.64. The design of the current collectors of the main trolleys must allow them to be disconnected from the trolleys, while the disconnector in front of the circuit breaker (see 5.4.65) may not be installed. The distance between the trolleys and the current collectors withdrawn from them must be at least 0,7 m.

The current collector drive must have a device for locking with a lock, with the current collectors retracted, as well as an indicator: "Enabled", "Disabled".

5.4.65. Switching off and on by means of current collectors of the main trolleys of the working current, the no-load current of the transformer and the electric motor with a voltage above 1 kV is not allowed. The crane must be equipped with a switch on the higher voltage side, designed to cut off the operating current.

On the higher voltage side of the transformer, it is allowed to install a switching device designed to disconnect only the no-load current of the transformer, while before disconnecting the transformer at the highest voltage, the entire load must be preliminary disconnected.

5.4.66. The door (hatch) to the platform for installing current collectors (see 5.4.63), the drive of current collectors (see 5.4.64) and the switch (see 5.4.65) must have interlocks that ensure the following:

1. The operation of the drive of current collectors for disconnection from trolleys and connection to them should be possible only after the circuit breaker is turned off.

2. Opening the door to the area for installing the current collectors should be possible only after the current collectors have been moved away from the trolleys to the extreme off position.

3. The operation of the current collector drive to connect them to the trolleys should be possible only after closing the door to the site for installing the current collectors.

4. Turning on the circuit breaker should be possible only after the current collectors are connected to the trolleys and after the current collectors are moved away from the trolleys to the extreme off position.

5.4.67. It should be possible to install a jumper connecting and grounding all phases of current collectors.

5.4.68. For the performance of repair work, the power supply of the crane with a three-phase voltage of not more than 380/220 V must be provided.

5.4.69. When installing faucets outdoors, you should:

1) protect the main trolleys from atmospheric surges and ground them in accordance with the requirements of Ch. 2.5;

2) the transformer and electric motors with voltage above 1 kV, installed on the crane, must be protected from atmospheric surges.

The world's tallest astronomical observatory opened 04.05.2024

Exploring space and its mysteries is a task that attracts the attention of astronomers from all over the world. In the fresh air of the high mountains, far from city light pollution, the stars and planets reveal their secrets with greater clarity. A new page is opening in the history of astronomy with the opening of the world's highest astronomical observatory - the Atacama Observatory of the University of Tokyo. The Atacama Observatory, located at an altitude of 5640 meters above sea level, opens up new opportunities for astronomers in the study of space. This site has become the highest location for a ground-based telescope, providing researchers with a unique tool for studying infrared waves in the Universe. Although the high altitude location provides clearer skies and less interference from the atmosphere, building an observatory on a high mountain poses enormous difficulties and challenges. However, despite the difficulties, the new observatory opens up broad research prospects for astronomers. ... >>

Controlling objects using air currents 04.05.2024

The development of robotics continues to open up new prospects for us in the field of automation and control of various objects. Recently, Finnish scientists presented an innovative approach to controlling humanoid robots using air currents. This method promises to revolutionize the way objects are manipulated and open new horizons in the field of robotics. The idea of controlling objects using air currents is not new, but until recently, implementing such concepts remained a challenge. Finnish researchers have developed an innovative method that allows robots to manipulate objects using special air jets as "air fingers". The air flow control algorithm, developed by a team of specialists, is based on a thorough study of the movement of objects in the air flow. The air jet control system, carried out using special motors, allows you to direct objects without resorting to physical ... >>

Purebred dogs get sick no more often than purebred dogs 03.05.2024

Caring for the health of our pets is an important aspect of the life of every dog owner. However, there is a common assumption that purebred dogs are more susceptible to diseases compared to mixed dogs. New research led by researchers at the Texas School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences brings new perspective to this question. A study conducted by the Dog Aging Project (DAP) of more than 27 companion dogs found that purebred and mixed dogs were generally equally likely to experience various diseases. Although some breeds may be more susceptible to certain diseases, the overall diagnosis rate is virtually the same between both groups. The Dog Aging Project's chief veterinarian, Dr. Keith Creevy, notes that there are several well-known diseases that are more common in certain breeds of dogs, which supports the notion that purebred dogs are more susceptible to disease. ... >>

New ways of liver regeneration have been found 22.10.2023

Researchers in the United Arab Emirates have discovered innovative ways to restore the liver. Foreign sources report on epigenetics methods that can promote the regeneration of this important organ of the human body.

World scientists have long been looking for unknown ways to renew the cells of human internal organs. An important discovery in this area was made by a team of specialists from the UAE.

According to the researchers, an effective way to stimulate liver regeneration is to remove certain parts of the epigenome responsible for suppressing jumping genes. This method results in a redistribution of epigenetic marks.

This is explained by the fact that a form of epigenetic compensation prevents the activation of transposable elements of the genome. It blocks the regulation of gene expression by compensatory epigenetic marks. This process ensures that repressive genes are activated earlier, which helps support regeneration after surgical removal of parts of the liver, as is often the case with tumor resection.

The results open the way to a deeper understanding of liver regeneration and the unique ability of this organ to recover, which exists in all mammalian species, including humans. In laboratory experiments, deletion of the core epigenetic regulator UHRF1 in the liver of mice led to a milder response of other particles, and the organ itself was successfully restored by activating specific genes.
