1.9.10. The specific effective length of the creepage distance of the supporting garlands of insulators and pin insulators of overhead lines on metal and reinforced concrete supports, depending on C3 and rated voltage (at an altitude of up to 1000 m above sea level), should be taken from Table. 1.9.1.

The specific effective length of the creepage path of supporting garlands and pin insulators of overhead lines at an altitude of more than 1000 m above sea level should be increased compared to the normalized one in Table. 1.9.1:

  • from 1000 to 2000 m - by 5%;
  • from 2000 to 3000 m - by 10%;
  • from 3000 to 4000 m - by 15%.

Table 1.9.1. Specific effective length of the creepage distance of supporting strings of insulators and pin insulators of overhead lines on metal and reinforced concrete supports, external insulation of electrical equipment and switchgear insulators

Pollution degree λэ, cm/kV (not less), at rated voltage, kV
up to 35 inclusive 110-750
1 1,90 1,60
2 2,35 2,00
3 3,00 2,50
4 3,50 3,10

1.9.11. Insulating air distances from current-carrying to grounded parts of supports must comply with the requirements of Ch. 2.5.

1.9.12. The number of suspension disc insulators in the supporting garlands and in a series chain of garlands of a special design (V-shaped, -shaped, -shaped, -shaped, etc., composed of insulators of the same type) for overhead lines on metal and reinforced concrete supports should be determined by the formula

m = L / L and

where Li is the length of the creepage distance of one insulator according to the standard or specifications for an insulator of a particular type, see. If the calculation of m does not give an integer, then choose the next integer.

1.9.13. On overhead lines with a voltage of 6-20 kV with metal and reinforced concrete supports, the number of suspension disc insulators in supporting and tension garlands should be determined according to 1.9.12 and, regardless of the material of the supports, should be at least two.

On overhead lines with a voltage of 35-110 kV with metal, reinforced concrete and wooden poles with grounded fastenings of garlands, the number of dish-shaped insulators in tension garlands of all types in areas with the 1st-2nd C3 should be increased by one insulator in each garland compared to the number obtained by 1.9.12.

On overhead lines with a voltage of 150-750 kV on metal and reinforced concrete supports, the number of disc insulators in tension garlands should be determined according to 1.9.12.

1.9.14. On overhead lines with a voltage of 35-220 kV with wooden poles in areas with 1-2-th C3, the number of suspension plate insulators made of glass or porcelain can be taken 1 less than for overhead lines on metal or reinforced concrete poles.

On overhead lines with a voltage of 6-20 kV with wooden poles or wooden traverses on metal and reinforced concrete poles in areas with 1-2nd C3, the specific effective creepage distance of insulators must be at least 1,5 cm / kV.

1.9.15. In the garlands of supports of large transitions, one additional plate-shaped insulator made of glass or porcelain should be provided for every 10 m of the excess height of the support over 50 m in relation to the number of insulators of normal design, determined for single-circuit garlands at λe = 1,9 cm / kV for overhead lines with voltage 6-35 kV and λe = 1,4 cm / kV for overhead lines with a voltage of 110-750 kV. At the same time, the number of insulators in the garlands of these supports should not be less than that required by the pollution conditions in the crossing area.

1.9.16. In garlands of dish-shaped insulators made of glass or porcelain, suspended at a height of more than 100 m, two additional insulators must be provided in addition to that specified in accordance with 1.9.12 and 1.9.15.

1.9.17. The choice of insulation for overhead lines with insulated wires must be made in accordance with 1.9.10 - 1.9.16.

The world's tallest astronomical observatory opened 04.05.2024

Exploring space and its mysteries is a task that attracts the attention of astronomers from all over the world. In the fresh air of the high mountains, far from city light pollution, the stars and planets reveal their secrets with greater clarity. A new page is opening in the history of astronomy with the opening of the world's highest astronomical observatory - the Atacama Observatory of the University of Tokyo. The Atacama Observatory, located at an altitude of 5640 meters above sea level, opens up new opportunities for astronomers in the study of space. This site has become the highest location for a ground-based telescope, providing researchers with a unique tool for studying infrared waves in the Universe. Although the high altitude location provides clearer skies and less interference from the atmosphere, building an observatory on a high mountain poses enormous difficulties and challenges. However, despite the difficulties, the new observatory opens up broad research prospects for astronomers. ... >>

Controlling objects using air currents 04.05.2024

The development of robotics continues to open up new prospects for us in the field of automation and control of various objects. Recently, Finnish scientists presented an innovative approach to controlling humanoid robots using air currents. This method promises to revolutionize the way objects are manipulated and open new horizons in the field of robotics. The idea of controlling objects using air currents is not new, but until recently, implementing such concepts remained a challenge. Finnish researchers have developed an innovative method that allows robots to manipulate objects using special air jets as "air fingers". The air flow control algorithm, developed by a team of specialists, is based on a thorough study of the movement of objects in the air flow. The air jet control system, carried out using special motors, allows you to direct objects without resorting to physical ... >>

Purebred dogs get sick no more often than purebred dogs 03.05.2024

Caring for the health of our pets is an important aspect of the life of every dog owner. However, there is a common assumption that purebred dogs are more susceptible to diseases compared to mixed dogs. New research led by researchers at the Texas School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences brings new perspective to this question. A study conducted by the Dog Aging Project (DAP) of more than 27 companion dogs found that purebred and mixed dogs were generally equally likely to experience various diseases. Although some breeds may be more susceptible to certain diseases, the overall diagnosis rate is virtually the same between both groups. The Dog Aging Project's chief veterinarian, Dr. Keith Creevy, notes that there are several well-known diseases that are more common in certain breeds of dogs, which supports the notion that purebred dogs are more susceptible to disease. ... >>

Miniature Bluetooth acceleration and temperature sensor based on CC2650 29.01.2016

The new support design from Texas Instruments demonstrates how tiny wireless sensors can be when built on the CC2650 system-on-a-chip.

The smallest CC13xx/CC26xx package is only 4x4 mm, while the chip contains a Cortex-M3 processor, radio, built-in DC/DC converter and a separate sensor controller. The finished uTag wireless battery accelerometer and temperature sensor fits on a 16x9 mm board and can work up to 3 months from a miniature CR1612 cell. Data is transmitted to any gadget that supports Bluetooh Low Energy technology.

To reduce size, the CC2650 operates without a 32kHz clock crystal. Instead, a built-in RC oscillator (RCOSCLF) is used. In order to meet the requirements of the Bluetooth specification (+-500 ppm), it is necessary to perform software calibration of RCOSCLF at least once per second.

The device measures acceleration using a MEMS accelerometer and ambient temperature. To measure the temperature, I2C sensor TMP102 is used, which is highly linear and has an accuracy of + - 0.5 ° С. The TMP102 requires no calibration, complex calculations or lookup tables to get an accurate temperature reading. The built-in 12-bit ADC allows measurements with a resolution of up to 0,0625 °C.
