* Tests of surge arresters not specified in this section should be carried out in accordance with the manufacturer's operating instructions.

1.8.31. 1. Measurement of the resistance of arresters and surge arresters.

The measurement is carried out:

  • on arresters and surge arresters with a rated voltage of less than 3 kV - with a megohmmeter for a voltage of 1000 V.
  • on arresters and arresters with a rated voltage of 3 kV and above - with a megohmmeter for a voltage of 2500 V.

The resistance of arresters RVN, RVP, RVO, CZ must be at least 1000 MΩ.

The resistance of the RVS arrester elements must comply with the requirements of the factory instructions.

The resistance of the elements of arresters RVM, RVRD, RVMG, RVMK must correspond to the values specified in table 1.8.28.

The resistance of surge suppressors with a rated voltage of 110 kV and higher must be at least 3000 MOhm and must not differ by more than ±30% from the data given in the passport.

The insulation resistance of the insulating bases of arresters with response recorders is measured with a megohmmeter for a voltage of 2500 V. The value of the measured insulation resistance must be at least 1 MOhm.

The resistance of surge suppressors with a rated voltage of up to 3 kV must be at least 1000 MOhm.

The resistance of surge suppressors with a rated voltage of 3-35 kV must comply with the requirements of the manufacturers' instructions.

The resistance of surge suppressors with a rated voltage of 110 kV and higher must be at least 3000 MOhm and must not differ by more than ±30% from the data given in the passport.

2. Measurement of the conduction current of valve-type arresters at rectified voltage.

The measurement is carried out at arresters with shunt resistances. In the absence of instructions from manufacturers, conduction currents must correspond to those given in table. 1.8.29.

3. Measurement of the conduction current of surge arresters.

Measurement of the conduction current of surge arresters is carried out:

  • for limiters of voltage class 3-110 kV when applying the highest long-term permissible phase voltage;
  • for limiters of voltage class 150, 220, 330, 500 kV at a voltage of 100 kV, frequency 50 Hz.

The limit values of the arrester conduction currents must comply with the manufacturer's instructions.

4. Checking the elements included in the device kit for measuring the conduction current of the surge suppressor under operating voltage.

The electrical strength of the insulated output is checked for surge arresters-0330 and 500 kV before commissioning.

The test is carried out with a smooth increase in voltage at a frequency of 50 Hz to 10 kV without a time delay.

The electrical strength of the OFR-10-750 insulator is tested with a voltage of 24 kV at a frequency of 50 Hz for 1 minute.

The conduction current of the protective resistor is measured at a voltage of 0,75 kV at a frequency of 50 Hz. The current value should be between 1,8-4,0 mA.

A New Way to Control and Manipulate Optical Signals 05.05.2024

The modern world of science and technology is developing rapidly, and every day new methods and technologies appear that open up new prospects for us in various fields. One such innovation is the development by German scientists of a new way to control optical signals, which could lead to significant progress in the field of photonics. Recent research has allowed German scientists to create a tunable waveplate inside a fused silica waveguide. This method, based on the use of a liquid crystal layer, allows one to effectively change the polarization of light passing through a waveguide. This technological breakthrough opens up new prospects for the development of compact and efficient photonic devices capable of processing large volumes of data. The electro-optical control of polarization provided by the new method could provide the basis for a new class of integrated photonic devices. This opens up great opportunities for ... >>

Primium Seneca keyboard 05.05.2024

Keyboards are an integral part of our daily computer work. However, one of the main problems that users face is noise, especially in the case of premium models. But with the new Seneca keyboard from Norbauer & Co, that may change. Seneca is not just a keyboard, it is the result of five years of development work to create the ideal device. Every aspect of this keyboard, from acoustic properties to mechanical characteristics, has been carefully considered and balanced. One of the key features of Seneca is its silent stabilizers, which solve the noise problem common to many keyboards. In addition, the keyboard supports various key widths, making it convenient for any user. Although Seneca is not yet available for purchase, it is scheduled for release in late summer. Norbauer & Co's Seneca represents new standards in keyboard design. Her ... >>

The world's tallest astronomical observatory opened 04.05.2024

Exploring space and its mysteries is a task that attracts the attention of astronomers from all over the world. In the fresh air of the high mountains, far from city light pollution, the stars and planets reveal their secrets with greater clarity. A new page is opening in the history of astronomy with the opening of the world's highest astronomical observatory - the Atacama Observatory of the University of Tokyo. The Atacama Observatory, located at an altitude of 5640 meters above sea level, opens up new opportunities for astronomers in the study of space. This site has become the highest location for a ground-based telescope, providing researchers with a unique tool for studying infrared waves in the Universe. Although the high altitude location provides clearer skies and less interference from the atmosphere, building an observatory on a high mountain poses enormous difficulties and challenges. However, despite the difficulties, the new observatory opens up broad research prospects for astronomers. ... >>

FMS6407 - video driver filter 19.04.2004

FAIRCHILD SEMICONDUCTOR announced the release of the FMS6407 video filter driver, which can handle both high definition television (HD), standard interlaced and progressive scan formats.

The microcircuit contains a triple 6th order filter with cutoff frequencies of 30, 15 and 8 MHz. For PC monitor applications, these filters can be bypassed to achieve a wider bandwidth (80 MHz).

The chip includes a 2x1 multiplexer to enable YPbPr/RGB or YPbPr/YC-CV video formats, when switching, synchronization is automatically adjusted. The microcircuit is produced in the TSS0P-20 package.
