2.9.1. This chapter applies to capacitor units with a voltage of 0,22 to 10 kV and a frequency of 50 Hz, designed for reactive power compensation and voltage regulation and connected in parallel with the inductive elements of the electrical network.

2.9.2. The capacitor unit must be in a technical condition that ensures its long-term and reliable operation.

2.9.3. The control of the capacitor unit, the regulation of the operation mode of the capacitor banks should, as a rule, be automatic.

The control of a capacitor unit, which has a switching device common with an individual receiver of electrical energy, can be carried out manually simultaneously with turning on or off the receiver of electrical energy.

2.9.4. The development of the operating modes of the capacitor plant should be carried out on the basis of the contractual values of the economic values of reactive energy and power. The operating modes of the capacitor unit must be approved by the technical manager of the Consumer.

2.9.5. At a voltage equal to 110% of the nominal value caused by an increase in voltage in the electrical network, the duration of the operation of the capacitor unit during the day should be no more than 12 hours. If the voltage rises above 110% of the nominal value, the capacitor unit must be immediately disconnected.

If the voltage on any single capacitor (capacitors in series) exceeds 110% of its nominal value, the operation of the capacitor bank is not allowed.

2.9.6. If the phase currents differ by more than 10%, the operation of the capacitor bank is not allowed.

2.9.7. A device for measuring the ambient air temperature must be provided at the installation site of the condensers. At the same time, it should be possible to monitor its readings without turning off the capacitor unit and removing the guards.

2.9.8. If the temperature of the condensers is below the maximum permissible lower temperature indicated on their nameplates or in the manufacturer's documentation, then the condenser unit cannot be put into operation.

The inclusion of a condenser unit is allowed only after the ambient temperature rises to the temperature value indicated in the passport.

2.9.9. The ambient air temperature at the installation site of the capacitors must not exceed the maximum value indicated on their nameplates or in the manufacturer's documentation. If this temperature is exceeded, ventilation must be increased. If within 1 hour the temperature has not decreased, the condensing unit must be switched off.

2.9.10. Battery capacitors must have serial numbers marked on the surface of the case.

2.9.11. The inclusion of a capacitor unit after it is turned off is allowed no earlier than after 1 min. in the presence of a discharge device connected directly (without switching devices and fuses) to a capacitor bank. If only resistors built into the capacitors are used as a discharge device, then the capacitor unit can be switched on again no earlier than after 1 min. for capacitors with a voltage of 660 V and below and after 5 minutes. for capacitors with a voltage of 660 V and above.

2.9.12. The switching on of a capacitor unit, disconnected by the action of protective devices, is allowed only after the cause of the disconnection has been clarified and eliminated.

2.9.13. The condenser unit must be provided with:

type="disc">
  • a reserve stock of fuses for the corresponding rated currents of fuse-links;
  • a special rod for the control discharge of capacitors stored in the room capacitor bank;
  • fire-fighting equipment (fire extinguishers, a box with sand and a scoop).
  • On the doors outside and inside the chambers, the doors of the cabinets of capacitor banks, there must be inscriptions indicating their dispatcher name. On the outside of the doors of the chambers, as well as the cabinets of capacitor banks installed in the production premises, safety signs must be reinforced or applied with indelible paint. Doors must be kept locked at all times.

    2.9.14. When replacing fuses, the capacitor unit must be disconnected from the mains and a break (by switching off the switching device) of the electrical circuit between the fuses and the capacitor bank must be ensured. If there are no conditions for such a break, then the fuses are replaced after the control discharge of all battery capacitors with a special rod.

    The control discharge of capacitors is allowed to be carried out no earlier than 3 minutes after the installation is turned off, unless there are other instructions from the manufacturers.

    2.9.15. When servicing capacitors that use trichlorobiphenyl as the impregnating dielectric, care must be taken to prevent its release into the environment. Failed capacitors impregnated with trichlorobiphenyl, in the absence of conditions for their disposal, are subject to destruction in specially designated places.

    2.9.16. Inspection of the capacitor unit (without shutdown) should be carried out within the time limits established by the local production instructions, but at least 1 time per day at facilities with constant personnel on duty and at least 1 time per month at facilities without constant duty.

    An extraordinary inspection of the capacitor unit is carried out in the event of an increase in voltage or ambient temperature to values close to the highest permissible values, the operation of protective devices, external influences that pose a danger to the normal operation of the unit, and also before turning it on.

    2.9.17. When inspecting the condenser unit, check:

    type="disc">
  • serviceability of fences and constipation, the absence of foreign objects;
  • values of voltage, current, ambient temperature, load uniformity of individual phases;
  • technical condition of devices, equipment, contact connections, integrity and degree of pollution of insulation;
  • absence of drip leakage of the impregnating liquid and unacceptable swelling of the walls of capacitor cases;
  • Availability and condition of fire extinguishing equipment.
  • The results of the inspection should be made an appropriate entry in the operational log.

    2.9.18. The frequency of major and current repairs, the scope of inspections and tests of electrical equipment and devices of the capacitor unit must comply with the requirements of the electrical equipment testing standards (Appendix 3).

    Self-healing software 08.07.2015

    Researchers at the MIT Laboratory for Computing and Artificial Intelligence have developed a system called Code Phage that automatically fixes bugs in open source applications. Code Phage is capable of correcting errors resulting from out-of-bounds parameters, integer overflows, and division by zero, according to a publication by the researchers on the Association for Computing Machinery website.

    For the system to work, it is necessary to have two input parameters that are entered into the target application, with the condition that one of the parameters causes the program to fail. Code Phage uses the database to look for a donor application that can process both inputs without crashing. It is assumed that such an application contains some kind of check condition that prevents failure and is not present in the target application. The goal is to move this check from the donor application to the target application that needs to be fixed.

    To find the test condition in the donor application and understand how it works, Code Phage runs the donor application first with the "good" parameter, and then with the "failed" parameter (that is, causing the crash in the original program). With each "run" the system builds a chain of logical operations occurring in the program until it finds a branch of these chains - the place where the test condition is located.

    Using the results of the analysis (symbolic expressions), the system recreates and integrates a similar check into the original application in the language in which it was written. At the same time, Code Phage works with binary donors, that is, it does not need to know the source code of donor applications, since it analyzes their logic.

    In their experiment, the researchers were able to fix bugs in seven popular open source applications using 2-4 donors for each. It took from 2 to 10 minutes to correct each error.

    According to the researchers, the advantage of Code Phage is that the system can take programs written in different languages as donors, as long as they work in a similar way. There are millions of applications on the Internet that can be used as donors.
