Recently, "short-wave direct conversion receivers" have become widespread. The figure shows a schematic diagram of one of these receivers, designed to operate in the 3.5 MHz band. An ohm consists of a high-frequency amplifier, a balanced mixer, a low-pass filter and a low-pass amplifier.

The RF amplifier is made on a field-effect transistor T1. Its load is the LIC3 circuit. From a symmetrical coil L3, the signal is fed to a balanced mixer, consisting of diodes D3, D4 and a tuning resistor R3. Filters are included at the output of the balanced mixer.

On the field-effect transistor T3, a master oscillator of the local oscillator is made (according to the capacitive three-point scheme). A buffer stage (transistor T2) is connected between the master oscillator and the mixer. The supply voltage of the local oscillator is stabilized.

The low frequency amplifier is made on transistors T4 - TS. You can connect high-impedance headphones to its output.

On transistors T7 and T8 (of different structures), the final stage of the amplifier is made. It is necessary when using low-impedance headphones or a direct-radiating driver with a voice coil impedance of 8-30 ohms.

The receiver is mounted in a metal case measuring 105X90X50 mm. Coils L1, L2 and L3 are wound on frames with a diameter of 9.5 mm. and chokes Dr1 and Dr2 - on ferrite ring cores with a diameter of 10 mm. In the manufacture of coils L1 and L2, 40 turns of PEV 0.31 wire are first wound (turn to turn; coil L1). A layer of PEV 0,23 wire is wound over this layer (wound in two wires; coil L2). Coil L3 contains 40 turns of PEV 0.31 wire (turn to turn is wound).

Choke inductance Dr1 - 1 mH, Dr2 - 60 mH.

Editorial note. The receiver can use transistors KP303 (T1, T3). KT315 (T2, T6, T7). KT342 (T4, T5), KT361 (T8), diodes KD512A (D1. D2). KD503A (D3, D4). D101 (D5, D6), Zener diode KS156A (D7).

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Bear self-treatment 21.06.2017

Zoologists have long noticed that bears often peel the bark from trees and lick a thin layer of cambium from under it - this is the name of the educational tissue up to 1 centimeter thick, from which all other tree cells develop.

Some scientists believe that such unusual behavior of predators helps them get additional food, but according to Russian researchers, this hypothesis is incorrect. The nutritional value of cambium, according to them, is many times less than the energy costs for its extraction.

In order to understand the true reasons for this unusual behavior of predators, scientists collected samples of damaged trees in Primorsky Krai and on Sakhalin Island. In these places, bears most often peel off white-bark firs, and therefore the study focused on these trees.

The scientists analyzed the chemical composition of the cambium from damaged trees using mass spectrometry. It turned out that these samples contain many different antioxidants, as well as probiotics.

Therefore, according to scientists, bears “extract” cambium primarily to maintain a balanced composition of their own microflora and as a biologically active food supplement.
