The electric cold relay (ERH) is designed to regulate the operation of refrigeration units, that is, to maintain the desired temperature in freezers.

In most cases, the refrigerator fails due to a malfunction of the ERC for the following reasons: refrigerant leakage from the pipe, which leads to its unusability; contamination of contacts connected to an electric heating element in absorption refrigerators or to an electric motor in compressor rooms; mechanical damage to ERH; incorrect regulation and installation of the ERC on the refrigeration unit.

The ERH connection diagram is shown in Fig.1.

ERH advantages: easy to manufacture, operate and repair; can be used for other purposes, such as adjusting the room temperature. Cons ERH: manual temperature setting.

The electrical circuits of the ERH nodes are shown in Fig. 2, the ways of connecting the ERH to the power grid are shown in Fig. 3 and Fig. 4. In this case, the device is connected through a transformer (Fig. 4), therefore, it is more overall, but also safer in operation. When connecting the device according to the scheme shown in Fig. 3, it is necessary that the insulation of the wiring and the thermistor be reliable and without damage. The complete ERH connection diagram is shown in Fig.5.

ERH consists of a threshold device made on transistors VT1 and VT2, a mechanical relay P1 of the RES-10 type and a power supply. The temperature sensor is the thermistor R3. When the switch-off temperature is set, the transistor VT1 is closed, VT2 opens, after charging the capacitor C3, relay P1 is activated, opening the electrical circuit. With an increase in the external temperature of the chamber, the resistance of the thermistor decreases, while the transistor VT1 is open, VT2 is closed, the relay turns off, closing the electrical circuit, and the refrigeration unit works again. The relay operates in economy mode, i.e. it is disabled when the refrigeration unit is running.

Details. Resistors R1, R2, R5 type MLT-0,5. Relay P1 type RES-10 (RS4.524.302) or RSM-1 (Yu.171.81.01). Any small-sized capacitors for a voltage not less than that indicated in the diagram. Diodes VD1-VD4 type D226V. Any Tr-r transformer with a voltage on the secondary winding of 12 ... 18 V. Transistors VT1 and VT2 of the KT815A, V type.

Setting. Resistor R1 is mounted on the outer surface of the refrigerator (can be installed in place of the dismantled relay). Resistor R3 (sensor) is installed in place of the factory relay pipes. ERH is mounted on the back wall of the refrigerator case. After installation of the ERH, the refrigeration unit is turned on. After the required temperature is established in the freezer, the refrigeration unit is stopped using the tuning resistor R4. Then check the temperature maintenance of the freezer and the operation of the refrigeration unit as a whole.

If the circuit is assembled without errors from serviceable parts and the device is mounted correctly, then the ERH does not require adjustment and works immediately.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

Pain relief without drugs 09.07.2021

Researchers from New York University have developed a device that can effectively deal with chronic pain without the use of drugs. The device is implanted directly into the brain.

"The unique technology belongs to the Neuralink company, which is owned by the American entrepreneur Elon Musk. With the help of the new implant, they planned to correct epilepsy, neurodegenerative diseases, paralysis, and others," the article notes.

When one detects the "pain detected" electrical signal, a light beam is automatically fired, which stimulates neurons that suppress pain signals. In this case, the implant is activated only when pain occurs and does not affect the brain in the normal state.

It is noted that the rat models on which the experiments were performed showed good results. It is known that in real time the device copes with chronic, mechanical, as well as neuropathic pain syndrome.
