The voltage converter, the circuit of which is shown in the figure, is designed to power portable radio equipment that consumes power no more than 10 watts. It is characterized by high efficiency, stable output voltage, and is not critical to the degree of battery discharge. The output voltage, when the input changes from 6 to 30 V, can be set anywhere from ±10 to ±20 V. In this case, the instability of the output voltage does not exceed 1%, and the ripple voltage (at a load of 2 kOhm) is 10 mV. The output impedance of the device is about 0,05 ohm.

Stabilized voltage converter

According to the principle of operation, this is a key converter with a pulse-width modulation stabilizer. The master oscillator is made on inverters D1.1, D1.2 according to the scheme of a symmetrical multivibrator. The frequency of the generated oscillations is about 50 kHz. Through the diode V1, they go to the waiting multivibrator, assembled on inverters D1.3, D1.4. As can be seen from the diagram, in addition to the resistor R5 and capacitor C3, its frequency-setting circuit includes the resistance of the emitter-collector section of the transistor V3, the bias circuit of which (resistors R3, R4) is powered by a positive voltage taken from the output of the device. Due to this, the duration of the pulses generated by the multivibrator turns out to be inversely proportional to the output voltage (when it decreases, the duration of the pulses increases and vice versa). Trigger D1.5, D1.6 improves the shape of the pulses.

The pulse voltage taken from the trigger output is amplified in power by transistors V6, V7 and is increased by transformer T1 to the required value. The voltage rectified by the V8-V11 diodes enters the load through a filter consisting of electrolytic capacitors C6, C7 and ceramic capacitors C8, C9 shunting them (they improve the filtering of the high-frequency components of the rectified voltage). The output voltage of the converter is set by a tuning resistor R4.

The supply voltage of the transistor V6 and the D1 chip is maintained unchanged by a stabilizer made on the V5 transistor and the V4 zener diode.

The T1 transformer is made in a ferrite armored magnetic circuit with an outer diameter of 30 and a height of 18 mm. Winding I contains 17 turns of PEL 1,0 wire, winding II - 2X40 turns of PEL 0,23 wire.

If necessary (if the power consumed from the converter is close to the limit), the V7 transistor is installed on a heat sink with a cooling surface of 50 ... 60 sq. cm.

In the voltage converter, transistors KT373A (V3), KT801A, KT801B (V5, V6), diodes KD503A (V1, V2) can be used. D226D (V8-V11) and K155LN1 chip. For the manufacture of a pulse transformer, a ferrite armored magnetic circuit of the size M700NM-11 - B30-AL-630 is suitable.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

Stratasys Objet Eden3V 260D printer for dentists 27.02.2014

In descriptions of 3D printers, the scope of these devices usually includes prototyping parts, but other objects can also be created using 3D printing technology. For example, the 260D printer Objet EdenXNUMXV, presented by the Israeli company Stratasys, is designed for dentists. These days, the manufacturer is demonstrating a novelty at the LMT Lab Day Show in Chicago.

The Objet Eden260V printer provides the ability to generate 3D models of teeth and jaws, as well as surgical templates based on oral scan data. According to the manufacturer, the use of a XNUMXD printer for these purposes reduces the cost of work and allows you to get more accurate models.

The printer uses special materials suitable for the specified application. The manufacturer refers to the advantages of the device by 20-40% more print area than that of competing models, which allows you to increase productivity by displaying several models in one print session. By the way, with regard to print speed, the superiority of the new printer over existing ones reaches 33%.

The printer uses a layer-by-layer method of forming an object from a gel-like photopolymer. Resolution in the horizontal plane is 600 dpi, in the vertical - 1600 dpi. Printing accuracy - no worse than 85 microns for objects up to 50 mm in size, no worse than 200 microns for objects of maximum size. The print area is 255 x 252 x 200 mm, the dimensions of the entire printer are 870 x 735 x 1200 mm.
