After 3 ... 5 minutes after turning on the fan, this device turns it off and turns off by itself, no longer consuming energy from the 220 V network. The development is based on A. Vyzhanov's "Simple Time Relay" ("Radio", 2007, No. 6, p. 54). The scheme of the device is shown in fig. 1, and its appearance - in Fig. 2

When you press the SB1 button, the mains voltage is supplied to the winding of the transformer T1. The second group of contacts of the button closes the charging circuit of the capacitor C1 to the voltage at the output of the rectifier, consisting of a diode bridge and a smoothing capacitor C2. As a result, the transistor VT1 opens, the relays K1 and K2 are triggered

Contacts K 1.1 block the "network" group of contacts of the button, and you can release it, the device will continue to work. Contacts K2.1 close the control electrode circuit of the triac VS1. The triac begins to open in each half-cycle of the mains voltage. through it, an alternating voltage of 220 V is supplied to the fan and the fan works. Thanks to a triac that can withstand current up to 5 A, it can be quite powerful.

After the SB1 button is released, the voltage across the capacitor C1 slowly decreases. But the transistor VT1 remains open and the fan is on until it drops to approximately 1,5 V. The transistor then closes, and the relays break the circuits they held closed. Triac stops opening. The fan and the entire device are turned off until the next press of the SB1 button. If necessary, you can turn on the fan for an indefinite time with switch SA1, without resorting to the "services" of the machine.

The design uses relays RES49 version RS4.569.421-02 (passport RS4.569.425) with a winding resistance of 270 ohms and an operating voltage of 12 V. They can be replaced by other low-power relays - the current switched by their contacts does not exceed a few milliamps.

Transformer T1 should be selected with an alternating voltage on winding II 1 ... 2 V more than the direct voltage of the relay. And the rated voltage of capacitors C1 and C2 should be 1,5 ... 2 times the voltage on this winding. Resistor R2, which limits the charging current of capacitor C1 to a safe value, can be made from a piece of nichrome wire. There is no need to accurately select its resistance.

With the ratings of the elements indicated in the diagram, a fan turn-off delay of about 5 minutes was obtained. By selecting capacitor C1, it can be changed.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

high speed jet engine 26.12.2020

Scientists from China have developed an air-jet engine, the capabilities of which allow you to fly around the planet in 2 hours.

During testing, the engine was able to exceed the speed of nine Mach numbers, however, this level is able to increase, because during the test, not very powerful equipment was used, which reduced the capabilities of the device.

The motor accelerates to Mach 16 - in this case, aircraft can go around the Earth in just 2 hours.

At the moment, only a prototype is being tested, for this reason, the full implementation of the project is expected by 2023.

The scientists gave some details about the engine: hydrogen fuel is ignited using a shock wave. The alloys used in the creation of the prototype can withstand quite a high load and temperature.
