ENCYCLOPEDIA OF RADIO ELECTRONICS AND ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING Air ionizer without transformers. Encyclopedia of radio electronics and electrical engineering Encyclopedia of radio electronics and electrical engineering / Medicine For several hours in a row you have been preparing for the next test, and fatigue has disappeared. It was as if they had spent all this time not at the desk, but in a forest clearing, on the banks of a river or in the mountains. The reason for everything is "Volga" - a desktop air ionizer that creates a special microclimate in the room. It is he who contributes to increasing productivity, improving well-being; Here's how it goes. The air we breathe contains charged particles - air ions. Air ions are atoms or molecules of air gases that have lost or gained electrons. Studies conducted by medical scientists have shown that the accumulation of positive air ions in the air, that is, atoms or molecules that have lost electrons, causes intense sensations, irritation of the mucous membranes of the respiratory tract, dizziness, and a decrease in the ability to concentrate. A slight predominance of light negative air ions has a favorable effect on the human body: breathing is facilitated, biological processes in the body are stimulated, blood pressure normalizes, and mood improves. Moreover, the decisive role here is played not by the number of ions, but by the ratio between negatively and positively charged particles. The air ions created by the device neutralize a significant part of the positive ions in the surrounding space. On the recommendation of a doctor, the Volga ionizer can be used for preventive and therapeutic purposes. The concentration of negative air ions at a distance of 0,5 m from the emitter is about 2 * 105 electric charges per 1 cm3. The device is powered by AC 220 V, power consumption 0,5 W. The device operates in the temperature range of 5...40 °C at a relative air humidity of 80%. The mass of the device is 0,4 kg. The ionizer is a high-voltage rectifier assembled according to a multiplication circuit, to the negative pole of which an emitter is connected (Fig.). Electrons "flow" from its needles under the action of high voltage and, interacting with oxygen molecules, form negative air ions. They are repelled by the reflective electrode and fly out of the slot at high speed. The magnitude of the negative voltage on the emitter is about 4 kV, and on the reflective electrode - 1,5 kV. The Volga air ionizer is made in the form of a writing device with a built-in thermometer. The control lamp illuminating it signals the inclusion of the ionizer in the network. An emitter is installed on top of the case, which can be rotated to the desired angle. If the emitter slot becomes dusty, it must be carefully cleaned with a brush. But they do this only when the device is turned off. The ionizer is relatively inexpensive and easy to operate. During its operation, ozone and nitrogen oxides are not formed. In the device circuit, the KD105G diodes can be replaced with D7Zh, D226 or KD105. Resistors-MTE-0,125, capacitors KM-4a-N30 are designed for a voltage of 600 V. Authors: A. Doronin, V. Chmil, A.
