Low current consumption in standby mode (2 mA), small dimensions of the device (board dimensions - 36x48 mm) and adjustable threshold allow the signaling device (from the NF400 set by MASTER KIT) to be used in almost any equipment, including those with battery power. The device will also find application as a signaling device for the discharge of a car battery.

When the specified threshold of the controlled voltage is lowered, the device emits an audible signal. The signaling threshold (voltage 8.13 V) can be adjusted with a trimming resistor VR1. To power the signaling device, a DC source with a voltage of 8.15 V and a load current of at least 100 mA is suitable.

On transistors TR1 and TR2, an electronic key is made, the threshold of which can be adjusted by a trimming resistor VR1.

When the supply voltage drops below the value set by the trimmer resistor VR1, the threshold and electronic key is activated and supplies power to the multivibrator circuit (sound generator) made on transistors TR3 and TR4. From the output of the multivibrator, an audio signal is fed to a power amplifier made on a TR5 transistor, and then to a miniature piezoelectric emitter PZ.

Structurally, the device is made on a printed circuit board made of foil fiberglass with dimensions of 36x48 mm.

To configure the device, it is desirable to connect it to a power source with the ability to smoothly adjust the output voltage in the range of 8 ... 15 V.

A voltage equal to 12 ... 15 V is supplied to the signaling device from an adjustable power source. By smoothly reducing the supply voltage, the operation of the signaling device is checked (until an audible signal appears).

Set the supply voltage equal to the desired alarm threshold. Slowly rotating the tuning resistor VR1, they wait until the signaling device is triggered.

To save time and relieve you of the routine work of finding the necessary components and manufacturing printed circuit boards, MASTER KIT offers the NF400 kit. The kit consists of a factory printed circuit board, all necessary components and instructions for assembly and operation.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

The Pentagon's Logic Weapon 16.11.2015

The US Department of Defense expects to receive the means of cyber attack. They are to be developed under a $460 million contract tendered for which was announced in October 2015. Under the same five-year contract, the contractor will also be required to outsource many other US Cyber Command operations.

In particular, this refers to the development and implementation of "logical bombs" - computer programs that will destroy the enemy's infrastructure, leading it to self-destruction. Such bombs can be used by American troops instead of explosive shells. With their help, according to Pentagon doctrine, the United States will be able to "cause catastrophes at nuclear power plants, open dams to flood settlements, turn off control equipment in order to cause aircraft crashes." From the same doctrine it follows that the use of cyber weapons allows the death of civilians. "Obviously, as a result of such actions, civilians may be injured or killed - such a side effect is acceptable if without it it is impossible to successfully carry out a military operation," the Pentagon said.

According to a former US Department of Defense official quoted by Nextgov, "logic bombs" are a new type of weapon, as "they are no longer just cyber espionage or the development of the Stuxnet Trojan to disable uranium enrichment centrifuges." And since military networks are based on the same networks as civilians, civilian casualties are inevitable. “A malicious program, for example, can destroy a command and control center. But if the developers did not put a self-neutralization function into it, then it can then penetrate civilian systems and, it is possible, lead to fatal consequences for ordinary people,” the retired major general explained. Charles Dunlap.

The US Cyber Troops were created in 2009. So far, Defense Department officials have argued that their tasks are limited to protecting against hacker attacks. In September 2014, NATO members agreed that a large-scale cyber attack on one of the members of the alliance would be considered an attack on the entire bloc and could lead to a military response.
