ENCYCLOPEDIA OF RADIO ELECTRONICS AND ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING Bicycle musical bell on the UMS-7-08 chip. Encyclopedia of radio electronics and electrical engineering Encyclopedia of radio electronics and electrical engineering / Calls and audio simulators The quality of modern plastic bicycle bells, to put it mildly, leaves much to be desired. I suggest replacing the stock bicycle bell with a simple musical bell. If this is a children's bike, then the bell will cause a storm of delight in the child. This bell can also be used as an apartment bell with adjustable sound volume. Especially when you consider that the enumeration of melodies in this call is chaotic and therefore will not irritate the owner. On fig. 1 shows a circuit diagram of a call.
The call is assembled on two microcircuits. Chip A1 is a specialized chip for building jukeboxes. A set of melodies is "sewn up" in the memory of the microcircuit, which can be played in a certain sequence. There are three such melodies in the UMS7-08 microcircuit, and eight of them in the UMS8-08 microcircuit. The difference between switching on a microcircuit and the standard one [1] is that the choice of a melody occurs chaotically. This is achieved by connecting an integrating circuit on resistor R1 and capacitor C2 to pin 6 of the melody selection. When the supply voltage is turned on, capacitor C2 slowly charges. At this time, there is a search of the first notes of all melodies. At the moment the capacitor C2 is charged, a melody begins to play, the first note of which coincided in time with this moment. Thus, when the supply voltage is applied by the SA1 switch, any melody can turn on. To sequentially search through all the melodies recorded on the microcircuit, it is necessary to select the resistor R1. If you increase the capacitance of the capacitor C2 to 50-100 microfarads, then with a short press of the SA1 button, the melody will not sound, but the first notes of all melodies will be played. Since each note is played with its own duration and measure, an interesting "cacophony" is obtained. The melody will sound as long as the SA1 button is pressed. If the button is pressed more than the melody lasts, then it is repeated. Chip A2 is a power amplifier up to 30 watts on a TDA1518BQ chip. This chip was chosen because of its prevalence and relative cheapness. It can be replaced without reworking the printed circuit board with the TDA1516BQ chip. It is advisable to install a small aluminum plate radiator on the microcircuit. The operation of microcircuits from 6 volts declared in the reference materials turned out to be fictitious, possibly due to Thai manufacture. In fact, the microcircuit began to work at a voltage of 7,2 volts. Speaker B1 can be anything up to 4 watts. But it must be remembered that the current consumed will be different. When using an 8 ohm speaker (Sistek sound master 1 w min 2 w max), the maximum current draw was 0,5 A. Since each note has its own frequency, the current consumption will be different for each note. During pauses, the current consumed was about 50 mA. To control the sound volume, it is necessary to put a 10 kilo-ohm resistor in front of the power amplifier with one end to the ground, and the other to capacitor C3. From the resistor engine through a capacitor with a capacity of 0,22 microfarads, the signal is fed to the amplifier. The bike bell is best powered by two 3R12x flat batteries. It is better to power the apartment bell from a stationary power supply. A printed circuit board made of single-sided fiberglass is shown in Figure 2. The bicycle bell is conveniently placed in a coconut shell. To do this, about one third of the nut must be cut on a cutting wheel. A plastic plate with a speaker is screwed to the cut of most of the shell with M2,5-3 screws. Batteries are fastened inside the nut with clamps. The bell is attached to the handlebar of a bicycle like a headlight with steel strips. Publication: cxem.net See other articles Section Calls and audio simulators.
