An ordinary bicycle bell has a number of disadvantages: it is inconvenient to use, rattles while riding even on a flat road, and makes a sharp, unpleasant sound.

From these shortcomings, an electronic call is free. In addition, you can easily change the volume and tone of the sound. The device works as follows. When the button S1 is closed (Fig. 1), an asymmetric multivibrator on transistors V1, V2 begins to generate audio frequency oscillations. They go to a single-stage amplifier V3, V4, assembled on a composite transistor. At the same time, capacitor C1 is charged from battery G2, which, after releasing the button, continues to power the electronic bell. At the same time, the tone of its sound rises, and the amplitude decreases, resembling a siren. Resistor R3 limits the current consumed and is made from a piece of a spiral for an electric stove.

Capacitors and resistors of any type can be used in the device. Transistors V1, V3, and V4 - series MP39 - MP42, and V2 - series MP35 - MP38 with a current gain of 20-60.

As a load, you can use any small-sized dynamic head with a voice coil resistance of not more than 10 ohms, for example, ODGD-6.

Power supply - Krona battery or two 3336L batteries connected in series.

Establishing the device is reduced to the selection of the value of the resistor R1 to obtain the desired sound tone. An electronic bell (Fig. 2) is mounted in a small case. It is mounted on the steering wheel stem, and the button is located under the brake handle.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Revealed the secret of flickering lightning 01.05.2021

Researchers from the Brazilian National Institute for Space Research (INPE), in collaboration with colleagues from the US, UK and South Africa, have for the first time recorded the formation and branching of luminous structures during lightning strikes.

Scientists analyzed images captured by a super slow motion camera to find out why lightning strikes split into two and sometimes form glowing patterns that the human eye interprets as flickering.

Scientists used ultra-high-speed digital video cameras to record more than 200 upbursts during summer thunderstorms in São Paulo (Brazil) and Rapid City (South Dakota, USA) between 2008 and 2019.
The ascending flashes they recorded were caused by positively charged cloud-to-ground lightning discharges, which are much more common, as described by the same INPE research team in a previous study.

Upward lightning occurs at the top of a tower or from a lightning rod on a skyscraper, for example, when a storm's electric field is disturbed by a cloud discharge to the ground up to 60 km away. The advantage of recording images of ascending lightning is that they allow us to see the entire trajectory of these positive discharges from the ground to the cloud base.

At the tip of the positive leader discharge, a low-brightness discharge with a brush-like structure is sometimes formed. This discharge, often referred to as a corona brush, can change direction, splitting into two.

When an upward burst successfully forks, it may change direction to the left or right. When no branching occurs, the crown brush creates very short segments as bright as the leader itself.
