Unfortunately, the real service life of electric lamps and ceiling lamps in poorly controlled places of their operation is often not as long as we would like. Hooligans smash it, people who love to profit from public (and, they say, nobody's) property twist it out. And lack of control and the lack of proper protection measures contribute to this.

I propose a technical solution to improve the current situation. Its essence is in fixing the ceiling of the lamp in a little-known way. Moreover, from someone who wants to ensure that the ceiling and the lamp serve longer on the landing or, say, in the corridor of an apartment building, significant time, material and physical costs will not be required.

True, first you have to make an M3 hole in the holder (opposite one of the threaded cavities). In it, after preliminary and tight screwing of the ceiling, screw in a countersunk screw-lock. But at first, not to the end, but in order to leave a risk on the glass of the ceiling for subsequent chipping or chipping of the recess under the tip of the screw. Then screw the cover back into the holder. Finally screw in the countersunk screw.

Anti-vandal protection of the luminaire
Secret fixation of the ceiling to protect the lamp from unauthorized access: 1 - ceiling; 2 - cartridge with an electric lamp; 3 - countersunk screw-lock M3; 4 - holder; 5 - wall

Now neither the ceiling nor the lamp can be removed quickly and imperceptibly (as it could be done once). You will need an improvised tool and a stand or ladder. In addition, the uninitiated will have to spend some time trying to unravel even a small secret (protecting the lighting device with a hidden fixing screw) ...

And if the residents are on the alert, then they will definitely pay attention to an outsider swarming around the lamp and take appropriate measures.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

TV controlled by the power of thought 23.06.2015

The British broadcasting corporation BBC has demonstrated a prototype of the Mind Control TV system, which allows you to control the TV in the literal sense of the power of thought.

To use the system, you need to put a special headset on your head to take an electroencephalogram. This device uses integrated sensors to record the electrical activity of the brain. The accompanying application generates control commands based on the received data.

In the Mind Control TV prototype, the user needs to reach a certain level of concentration in order to perform the desired action. This is indicated by a scale similar to a volume increase bar.

During the experiment, the system alternately showed screensavers of five channels, lingering on each of them for 10 seconds. Volunteers were asked to make a choice by gaining the required level of concentration.

In general, the Mind Control TV complex showed positive results, although channel switching was easy for some subjects, and difficult for others. It is assumed that in the future, such a system will make life easier for people with various disorders of hand motility, as well as paralyzed patients.
