Currently, a lot of electromechanical watches are sold in the country's markets in the form of a variety of houses and parrots. As a rule, the manufacturer is not indicated on these devices. I take the liberty of asserting that in the shortest time after the purchase, the owner, at best, will give the "house" for children to play, as my friends did.

The clock caught my eye when I was thinking about which alarm clock to set in the next hours on the BIS KR145IK1901. In the aforementioned "house", the alarm clock emits a pleasant intermittent signal and is mounted on a board measuring only 32x16 mm. In general, having dismantled the board and carefully sawed off the battery compartment from the watch case, after a little refinement, I got a good signaling device.

The principle of refinement is clear from the figure.

In my case, a periodic ringing was observed, to eliminate which it is enough to install a capacitor C1 of the KLS, KM, KD types or any small-sized one. Structurally, the transistor T1 is installed on the clock board in pre-drilled holes, the base output is bent up. Resistor R2 (and capacitor C1) is soldered at one end to the VT1 base, and at the other end to the "negative" output of the board. The conclusions of the electromagnet should be unsoldered from the board. For convenience, I soldered the emitter to the opposite side of the board. Resistor R1 in my case was installed on the electronic clock board.

In standby mode, the call practically does not consume current (less than 0,5 μA), in operating mode - no more than 3 mA (from a 1,5 V battery). The alarm clock is satisfactorily audible when the power is reduced to 1 V.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Greenhouse gas - in business 13.12.2009

Every year, about 28 billion tons of carbon dioxide enter the atmosphere due to human activities. Since this gas is involved in the formation of the greenhouse effect that warms the Earth's climate, scientists are thinking about how to reduce its emissions.

German chemists propose to use CO2 as a source of carbon for the synthesis of organic compounds. Based on carbon dioxide, drugs (for example, aspirin), fertilizers (urea), food additives for animal feed, plastics, and even fuel - methanol can be synthesized.

The Japanese chemical concern Mitsui is building a plant in Osaka for the synthesis of methanol from CO2 and hydrogen, and the hydrogen will be produced using solar energy. The plant is to start operating in 2010 and produce 100 tons of methanol annually. However, even if all these opportunities are fully realized, only two billion tons of carbon dioxide will be able to bind annually.

In addition, the gas is rather inert, reluctant to react, which requires additional energy, which means that it will be necessary to increase electricity generation and burn additional amounts of fossil fuels.
