Megaphones are useful in public speaking, organizing and directing group exercise and social events. It is very useful if the megaphone has a siren function, which allows you to call attention to the speaker with a sound signal.

A diagram of a simple megaphone based on the TBA810 chip is shown in the figure. It can be powered by a rechargeable or galvanic battery with a voltage of 7 ... 15 V. The output power is from 1 to 6 W, depending on the supply voltage and load resistance.

A preliminary microphone amplifier is built on the VT1 transistor and related components. Its voltage gain is approximately equal to the ratio of the resistances of resistors R7 and R8. The collector current of transistor VT1 is set to approximately 0,5 mA by selecting resistor R4. Jumper S1 is installed only if the BM1 microphone needs power. When switch SA2 is closed, the signal from the collector of transistor VT1 is fed to the output power amplifier. It is built on the UMZCH TBA810 (DA2) microcircuit, which has a small current consumption (about 12 mA at a supply voltage of 14,4 V) and delivers about 6 W of power at this voltage to a load with a resistance of 4 ohms. Variable resistor R11 adjust the volume of the signal coming from the microphone.

On the chip element DD1.4, capacitor C10 and resistor R13, a rectangular pulse generator with a frequency of about 1000 Hz is built. When the SB1 button is pressed, its pulses are also fed to the input of the final amplifier. A single tone siren sounds. Its volume is set by a tuning resistor R15.

Element DD1.1 serves as a pulse generator with a frequency of 0,5 Hz. They are fed to the inputs of the elements DD1.2 (directly) and DD1.3 (through an inverter on the transistor VT2), turning on the generators assembled on these elements in turn. The first generates pulses with a frequency of 2000 Hz, and the second - 500 Hz. Their output signals are summed using resistors R14 and R16. When the SB2 button is pressed, a signal of two alternating tones is fed to the input of the final amplifier. Trimmer resistor R17 set its volume.

The power of the BA1 dynamic head must be at least 6 watts. The SA1 switch turns the megaphone on and off. The BL-L532URC LED, which indicates power on, can be replaced with another of a suitable glow color and sufficient brightness at a current of 1,2 mA.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Centec GoldenGate 10GbE Switch Chip 05.04.2015

Centec announced the release of the GoldenGate 1,2Tb/s Ethernet switching chip. The switch, which the manufacturer refers to as the fourth generation of such solutions, will accelerate the transition to higher performance connections, as it brings the cost and power consumption of 10 GbE to the levels of 1 GbE, while having built-in support for 100 GbE uplink, allowing you to protect your investment in equipment with the calculation for future upgrades.

In particular, according to the manufacturer, Centec GoldenGate consumes 20% less energy compared to similar existing solutions, taking up half the space on the board.

The advantages of the switch include support for software-defined networks and virtualization of network functions, as well as the availability of Service Level Agreement (SLA) tools and the built-in "engine" Operations, Administration and Maintenance (OAM), support for Multiprotocol Label Switching-Transport Profile (MPLS-TP ), synchronous Ethernet (SyncE), and IEEE1588. To facilitate the use of new switches by developers, the manufacturer offers an appropriate SDK.

Externally, the new switch is a chip in an FCPBGA package with 1825 pins, occupying a 45 x 45 mm area on the board. Serial deliveries of GoldenGate should begin in the third quarter.
