The described device allows you to implement the effects of "wow-wow". "soft attack", "booster" ("click") and "wow-booster" in the sound of electric guitars of all varieties. It practically does not require adjustment, it is in good agreement with guitar pickups of various types (input signal level 10 ... 100 mV), it has a simple system for switching operating modes. It should be noted that when operating in the "Booster" and "Wah-Booster" modes, it performs the functions of a dynamic noise level limiter and prevents the occurrence of excitation due to acoustic feedback in pauses, even when "phae" and "distortion" devices are connected to the input .

The device (see diagram) includes a manipulator based on transistor V1, controlled by the voltage of element G1 through a metallized mediator, and a resonant amplifier based on transistors V1 and V3 with a tunable T-bridge in the feedback circuit. In the position of the switches S1 and S2 indicated in the diagram, the device implements the "wow" effect. When you press the S1 button, the "soft attack" manipulator is turned on. To reduce the influence of the charging current pulse of the capacitor C1 during the operation of the manipulator, the variable resistor R1 slider should not be brought to the extreme left position according to the diagram (or a 1 Ohm resistor should be connected between the G1 element and the resistor R510).

The variable resistor R0,5 can be used to adjust the duration of the attack within 3 ... 1 s. In the "Wow-booster" and "Booster" modes, the transistor VI is included in the T-bridge circuit of the "wow" device. At the moment the string is plucked by the mediator, the capacitor C1 is charged from the element G1. at the same time, the transistor VXNUMX begins to open, which leads to the restructuring of the T-bridge of the amplifier to a higher frequency - the high-frequency components of the signal spectrum are emphasized.

As the capacitor C1 discharges after the pinch, the resistance of the transistor increases and the quasi-resonant peak on the amplifier characteristic shifts to the lower frequencies. In this case, the effects of "booster" or "soft attack" are realized, depending on the position of the variable sliders by the resistor Rl and R3. If the sound spectrum of the instrument contains high-frequency components, and the duration of the bridge rebuilding is short, then this process is perceived by ear as a quick change in the sound "and" to "y". The color of the click and the timbre of the sound of the instrument can be significantly changed by connecting a non-linear spectrum converter to the input of the device. At a slow pace of the game, the performer has an additional opportunity to realize the effect of timbre vibrato by touching the metallized section of the pick with the free finger of the right hand. If you want to turn off all the effects, just move the SI switch to the bottom position according to the diagram and extract sounds with a regular pick or fingers.

Structurally, the device can be designed as a pedal with foot switch modes. The handle of the resistor R10 is mechanically connected to the movable platform of the pedal. If the device is intended to be used in conjunction with a bass guitar, then the mode switches can be omitted and the device can only be used in the Booster and Wah Booster modes.

Transistors of the MP39-MP42 series can be used in the device. The use of transistors P416B and P28 in a resonant amplifier is due only to the desire for a minimum noise level at the output when operating in the "Wah-wah" mode. Transistor V1 should have the largest possible ratio of resistances in the closed and saturated states. It is desirable that the resistors R1 and R10 be from group B. Galvanic cell G1 - 316, 332, etc. or battery D-0,06, D-0,1.

A ready-made "wow" prefix is also suitable for the manufacture of the device. In this case, it is convenient to additionally mount switches S1 and S2 in it, and place the manipulator with controls in the guitar itself, connecting it to the prefix with a two-wire shielded cable.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Ocean under Beijing 08.07.2007

Seismic studies have made it possible to discover under East Asia, at depths of 600 and 1200 kilometers (this is the lower layer of the mantle), huge reserves of water.

The pores of the mantle rocks here contain as much water as in the entire Arctic Ocean. The center of this deep reservoir is located in the Beijing area. It is believed that the water was "pushed" so deeply by the movement of tectonic plates under the Pacific Ocean about a hundred million years ago. This water betrayed itself by dampening the seismic waves that propagate through the Earth during earthquakes.
