The extension coil consists of a base and a stand made of figured metal plates connected to each other by rivets. A bronze bushing is fixed in the rack, into which the steel axis of the coil is inserted along a sliding fit. A handle with a rotating handle is rigidly mounted on a square shank from its one end, and textolite sidewalls of the coil with a vinyl plastic spacer sleeve are mounted on the other end. The sleeve also serves to wind the wire.

All this, together with the socket box, is rigidly tightened with an M8 bolt screwed into the axle. A socket is attached to the socket with screws, from which the wire is passed through the hole and wound on a coil. A plug is attached to the other end of the wire.

Parts that require insulation are made of textolite, vinyl plastic, ebonite and polished. And the stand and base (made of stainless steel) are additionally painted with boron powder. Such processing gives the product not only the necessary strength and safety, but also an attractive presentation. The dimensions of the coil allow you to freely wind 30 m of wire of the appropriate section on it, which is quite enough for use in the household.

The proposed extension coil will not take up much space in your home or workshop; it is also convenient to carry it with you in a car - to turn on the parking light or emergency stop lamp.

Traffic noise delays the growth of chicks 06.05.2024

The sounds that surround us in modern cities are becoming increasingly piercing. However, few people think about how this noise affects the animal world, especially such delicate creatures as chicks that have not yet hatched from their eggs. Recent research is shedding light on this issue, indicating serious consequences for their development and survival. Scientists have found that exposure of zebra diamondback chicks to traffic noise can cause serious disruption to their development. Experiments have shown that noise pollution can significantly delay their hatching, and those chicks that do emerge face a number of health-promoting problems. The researchers also found that the negative effects of noise pollution extend into the adult birds. Reduced chances of reproduction and decreased fertility indicate the long-term effects that traffic noise has on wildlife. The study results highlight the need ... >>

A New Way to Control and Manipulate Optical Signals 05.05.2024

The modern world of science and technology is developing rapidly, and every day new methods and technologies appear that open up new prospects for us in various fields. One such innovation is the development by German scientists of a new way to control optical signals, which could lead to significant progress in the field of photonics. Recent research has allowed German scientists to create a tunable waveplate inside a fused silica waveguide. This method, based on the use of a liquid crystal layer, allows one to effectively change the polarization of light passing through a waveguide. This technological breakthrough opens up new prospects for the development of compact and efficient photonic devices capable of processing large volumes of data. The electro-optical control of polarization provided by the new method could provide the basis for a new class of integrated photonic devices. This opens up great opportunities for ... >>

Carbon Neutral Apple 23.07.2020

Apple has stated that it will be 2030% carbon neutral by 100. In 10 years, the company intends to have a zero carbon footprint across its entire business, including the production supply chain and recycling.

"Business has a huge opportunity to help build a more sustainable future, through our shared care for the planet," said CEO Tim Cook. "By 2030, Apple's entire business will be carbon neutral. The planet we share cannot wait."

The company plans to achieve 75% of this target through emission reductions and the remaining 25% through carbon removal or offsetting projects such as tree planting and habitat restoration. In addition, the company will launch the Impact Accelerator program, which aims to invest in small businesses that care about reducing their carbon footprint.

Apple has unveiled a roadmap for carbon neutrality that will help other companies think about reducing their impact on climate change as well.

Many technology companies have already announced their intentions to go greener. For example, Microsoft also hopes to have a zero carbon footprint by 2030, while Amazon aims to achieve this by 2040.
