ENCYCLOPEDIA OF RADIO ELECTRONICS AND ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING
Identification of conductors by colors or digital designations. Encyclopedia of radio electronics and electrical engineering Encyclopedia of radio electronics and electrical engineering / Electrician's Handbook The following colors can be used to identify conductors: black, brown, red, orange, yellow, green, blue (including cyan), violet, gray, white, pink, turquoise. For greater safety, yellow and green should not be used if there is a risk of mixing said colors with the combination of yellow and green. In addition to the combination of green and yellow that is used for the neutral conductor*, blue, black and brown are preferred for identifying other conductors. It is recommended that color identification be carried out along the entire length of the conductor by coloring the insulation or color marks. As an option, additional identification at selected locations is recommended. The use of blue The blue color is intended for the zero working or middle conductor. If the circuit contains a neutral conductor or a middle conductor identifiable by color, then the color used for this assignment shall be blue. In this case, blue should not be used to identify another conductor if there is a risk of mixing. If there is no neutral conductor or middle conductor, then the blue color in the multicore cable can also be used for other applications, with the exception of the application as a neutral protective conductor. If color identification is used, then bare conductors used as neutral working conductors must be painted blue along their entire length or blue stripes 15 to 100 mm wide in each compartment or block, or in any accessible place. Using two-color combinations General provisions Combinations of colors may be used if there is no danger of mixing them. The colors yellow and green must not be used for other two-color combinations other than the green-yellow combination. Use of green and yellow The green-yellow combination should only be used to identify the neutral protective conductor. Notes: 1. The combined zero working and zero protective conductor (PEN-conductor) is designated in one of the following ways:
Bare conductors used as neutral protective conductors must be painted with stripes of the same width of green and yellow, 15 to 100 mm wide, adjacent to each other, either along the entire length of each conductor, or in each compartment or block, or in any accessible place. If adhesive tape is used, only two-color tape should be used. For insulated conductors, the combination of green and yellow shall be such that, for each 15 mm length of insulated conductor, one of these colors shall cover at least 30% and not more than 70% of the surface of the conductor, with the other color covering the remainder of the surface. 2. If the neutral protective conductor can be identified by shape, design or position (for example, a concentric conductor), then color coding along its entire length is optional, but the ends or accessible places should be clearly indicated by a graphic symbol or a combination of green and yellow. Digital identity General provisions The digital designation system is used to identify conductors, with the exception of conductors with a green-yellow designation. The sign must be easily recognizable and durable. All digital designations should be well readable, make a sharp contrast with the color of the insulation. The designation is performed in Arabic numerals. Multicore cables All insulated cores of a multi-core cable must be numbered in natural sequence of numbers. Numerical designations must be repeated at regular intervals d along the entire length of the core, with successive designations arranged in a "jack". The location of the digital designations should be at least as shown in Fig. 1 with a longitudinal inscription (along the route) or in Fig. 2 with a transverse inscription. Crap. one Crap. one The locations of digital designations and their interval d should be indicated in the standards and specifications for the relevant products. To avoid mixing the numbers 6 and 9, or combinations containing these numbers, must be underlined. Identification examples 1. Color identification of cores of cables insulated with PVC or insulated with rubber:
2. Color identification of three single-core black cables in one set:
3. Color identification of conductors according to the functional purpose of the circuits in which they are used (according to GOST 12.2.007.0):
