As you know, LL has different ignition voltage and combustion voltage. The first - with cold filaments - is approximately 1000-1200 V. We will consider it equal to 1200 V (to the maximum), common to all lamps. When the discharge in the lamp is ignited, the voltage on it drops (up to 55-60 V for LL with a power of up to 20 W and 100-125 V for LL with a power of 30-40 W; this is the burning voltage). In this case, the current can increase almost to the destruction of the lamp. Therefore, it must be limited.

In converters, the circuits of which are shown in fig. 3.76, the output voltage at the front of the output pulse is used quite successfully, when the voltage rises to Uз - LL ignites, then the voltage drops to Uг - the lamp burns while the energy accumulated in the transformer is transferred to it (Fig. 3.77).

The winding of the transformer is calculated for the working (Uг) voltage. When choosing a transformer, we take into account that for the ignition voltage (Uз) you should set the voltage value per winding turn no more than 10-15 V / vit. (at 20-24 V / vit., unstable ignition is observed).

Calculation of the transformer. Given: battery voltage U \u12,6d XNUMX V. Required: ignite LL with power Pл = 20 W. For her Uз = 1200 V, Uг \u55d 3.76 V. The number of turns of the winding III (Fig. XNUMX, a) - nз:

Let's take 110 turns. Then for Uг will be

The voltage in the primary (collector) winding will be

The number of turns in winding II (base) will be

You can take 5 ... 7 turns. The diameter d of the wire is calculated as usual:

(this, of course, is very rough - the current is pulsed, but it is suitable for evaluation).

The operating current of LL is calculated by the formula

therefore winding wire diameter III

We take the wire of the nearest standard diameter.

Transformation ratio for winding I:

The current in the winding I is

The diameter of the winding wire I is calculated by the formula

We take a wire with a diameter of 1 mm.

Winding wire diameter II d2 can be taken equal to 0,42 mm. A ferrite core for lamps up to 30 W can be used from TDKS-19 (S = 1,1 cm2), or use a K40x25x11 ring (S = 0,825 cm2). The ring is carefully broken; windings I and II are wound on one half of it, one above the other, with insulation between them, for example, with electrical tape.

Attention! Windings can not be spread! Winding III is wound on the other half of the ring, turn to turn, without overlaps, with insulation between the layers (you can use electrical tape).

The ring is glued with epoxy resin. A notebook sheet is used as a material for magnetic gaps. If the LL is of lower power, then the ferrite can also be taken with a smaller cross section.

For LL at 30 and 40 W, you can use a ferrite core from TDKS-9-1 (S = 2,07 cm2):

The oscillator transistor is selected from the following conditions:

Better still take uke max more than 300 V. Well, if you still choose a transistor and the minimum UHAC. You can put KT854A or KP955A in the circuit. If this is not the case, then by increasing the number of turns of the winding III, it is possible to lower the ike to an acceptable one for the existing transistor.

By power loss

the radiator for the transistor is calculated.

In the circuit (Fig. 3.74) R2 sets PO. If you add a resistor and switch S1 (as in Fig. 3.76, b), you get two modes - PMAX and PMIN.

Between the collector and emitter VT1, it is imperative to put an RF diode (KD226G, KD226D), since internal protective diodes are not provided in domestic transistors.

Alcohol content of warm beer 07.05.2024

Beer, as one of the most common alcoholic drinks, has its own unique taste, which can change depending on the temperature of consumption. A new study by an international team of scientists has found that beer temperature has a significant impact on the perception of alcoholic taste. The study, led by materials scientist Lei Jiang, found that at different temperatures, ethanol and water molecules form different types of clusters, which affects the perception of alcoholic taste. At low temperatures, more pyramid-like clusters form, which reduces the pungency of the "ethanol" taste and makes the drink taste less alcoholic. On the contrary, as the temperature increases, the clusters become more chain-like, resulting in a more pronounced alcoholic taste. This explains why the taste of some alcoholic drinks, such as baijiu, can change depending on temperature. The data obtained opens up new prospects for beverage manufacturers, ... >>

Major risk factor for gambling addiction 07.05.2024

Computer games are becoming an increasingly popular form of entertainment among teenagers, but the associated risk of gaming addiction remains a significant problem. American scientists conducted a study to determine the main factors contributing to this addiction and offer recommendations for its prevention. Over the course of six years, 385 teenagers were followed to find out what factors may predispose them to gambling addiction. The results showed that 90% of study participants were not at risk of addiction, while 10% became gambling addicts. It turned out that the key factor in the onset of gambling addiction is a low level of prosocial behavior. Teenagers with a low level of prosocial behavior do not show interest in the help and support of others, which can lead to a loss of contact with the real world and a deepening dependence on virtual reality offered by computer games. Based on these results, scientists ... >>

Traffic noise delays the growth of chicks 06.05.2024

The sounds that surround us in modern cities are becoming increasingly piercing. However, few people think about how this noise affects the animal world, especially such delicate creatures as chicks that have not yet hatched from their eggs. Recent research is shedding light on this issue, indicating serious consequences for their development and survival. Scientists have found that exposure of zebra diamondback chicks to traffic noise can cause serious disruption to their development. Experiments have shown that noise pollution can significantly delay their hatching, and those chicks that do emerge face a number of health-promoting problems. The researchers also found that the negative effects of noise pollution extend into the adult birds. Reduced chances of reproduction and decreased fertility indicate the long-term effects that traffic noise has on wildlife. The study results highlight the need ... >>

Unused stock of fossil rodent nuts 03.04.2004

In a brown coal open pit near Cologne, Germany, a bucket wheel excavator unearthed a stock of nuts made by some large rodent 17 million years ago.

The age of the pantry, possibly left by the ancestor of modern hamsters or chipmunks, is determined to within half a million years by the rate of growth of coal seams from the remains of vegetation. "Klad" consists of 1200 nuts related to chestnut.

Now such walnut trees grow only on the Pacific coast of the United States and in East Asia. In the Miocene era, the climate of Central Europe was hot, monkeys and crocodiles were found here. But, judging by the size of the reserves, the rodents already anticipated a cold snap.
