Phenol polyvinyl acetate adhesives designed for bonding metals and non-metals.

Adhesives brands BF-2 and BF-4 used for bonding non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, thermosetting plastics, organic glass, wood, porcelain, ceramics, fiber, leather, paper and other materials in any combination.

Glue BF-4 used in cases where the adhesive connection must be elastic and resistant to vibration.

Adhesives of the BF-2N and BF-4N brands recommended for gluing ferrous metals, grade BFR-2 - for gluing packages of magnetic circuits, grade BF-6 - for gluing fabrics, felt, felt, cellophane, etc.

Adhesive for polystyrene consists of benzene (96% by weight) and polystyrene (4%) in the form of chips. It is used for gluing parts made of polystyrene. An adhesive containing 10% polystyrene is used to secure the winding ends of high frequency coils to polystyrene frames.

Glue for PTFE (in mass parts): MBK-1 compound, rosin - 3, castor oil - 4. The temperature of the glue during gluing should be 100-120 ° C.

acrylic adhesive (2-3% organic glass and 97-98% dichloroethane) is used for bonding organic glass.

Adhesive rubber (in mass parts): natural rubber - 1, dissolved in 10-15 parts of solvent gasoline or aviation gasoline.

Glue 88-N is a solution of rubber compound N31 and butylphenol formaldehyde resin in a mixture of ethyl acetate and gasoline in a ratio of 2:1. Designed for cold bonding of rubber and metals. Glue 88-N can be used to glue rubber to glass, wood, leather and other materials, as well as glue rubber to rubber. The glue is applied in a thin layer on the surfaces to be glued, which are joined after the glue has dried (until tacky). The adhesive joint is kept under slight pressure for several hours. Glue with sediment must be thoroughly mixed before use.

Epoxy adhesives are used for bonding metals and as compounds (aggregates), if an appropriate filler is added to them. Such glue without filler is used for gluing glass, porcelain, ceramics, as well as for gluing them to metals. To reduce the rigidity of the adhesive, a plasticizer is used. Epoxy adhesive with a hardener introduced into it hardens at room temperature.

Composition of some epoxy adhesives is given in table. 1.10 (in mass parts).

Table 1.10. The composition of the epoxy adhesive (in mass parts)

Adhesives

* Note. Other resins (ED-5, ED-37) may be used.

For making glue it is desirable to heat the epoxy resin to a temperature of 60 ° C and add a plasticizer to it. If necessary, a filler is added to the resin, which several times crowns the bonding strength. The resulting composition is mixed, after which a hardener is introduced into it and mixed again. The prepared adhesive must be used immediately, as it cannot be used after hardening. As a filler, you can also use talc, aluminum or bronze powder, ground glass or porcelain, graphite or ebonite dust, etc.

Glue PFE-2-10 used for bonding aluminum and duralumin, silicate and organic glass, wood, leather, paper, rubber, leather and rubber, polyamide films and fabrics.

Glue K-300-61 used for gluing steel, alloys of titanium, magnesium, aluminum, asbestos textolite, asbestos cement, fluoroplast-4 among themselves and in various combinations. The surfaces of the parts to be bonded must be well cleaned and degreased. The adhesive joint is maintained at room temperature under a pressure of 10-100 kPa.

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

The threat of space debris to the Earth's magnetic field 01.05.2024

More and more often we hear about an increase in the amount of space debris surrounding our planet. However, it is not only active satellites and spacecraft that contribute to this problem, but also debris from old missions. The growing number of satellites launched by companies like SpaceX creates not only opportunities for the development of the Internet, but also serious threats to space security. Experts are now turning their attention to the potential implications for the Earth's magnetic field. Dr. Jonathan McDowell of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics emphasizes that companies are rapidly deploying satellite constellations, and the number of satellites could grow to 100 in the next decade. The rapid development of these cosmic armadas of satellites can lead to contamination of the Earth's plasma environment with dangerous debris and a threat to the stability of the magnetosphere. Metal debris from used rockets can disrupt the ionosphere and magnetosphere. Both of these systems play a key role in protecting the atmosphere and maintaining ... >>

Solidification of bulk substances 30.04.2024

There are quite a few mysteries in the world of science, and one of them is the strange behavior of bulk materials. They may behave like a solid but suddenly turn into a flowing liquid. This phenomenon has attracted the attention of many researchers, and we may finally be getting closer to solving this mystery. Imagine sand in an hourglass. It usually flows freely, but in some cases its particles begin to get stuck, turning from a liquid to a solid. This transition has important implications for many areas, from drug production to construction. Researchers from the USA have attempted to describe this phenomenon and come closer to understanding it. In the study, the scientists conducted simulations in the laboratory using data from bags of polystyrene beads. They found that the vibrations within these sets had specific frequencies, meaning that only certain types of vibrations could travel through the material. Received ... >>

Alibaba Tmall Genie Home Assistant 08.07.2017

Home voice assistants are a new trend for the near future. One Amazon, which created the first such device, sells several million of them a year, and new players join it every month.

So, the Chinese giant Alibaba presented its own version. The novelty is called Tmall Genie and is priced at about $ 73, which is significantly cheaper than most competitors.

The list of device skills is quite standard for such a solution at the start of its sales. Tmall Genie can answer questions using information on the Web, control music playback, control connected home appliances, make purchases in the Tmall online store, and so on.

The device will be sold only in China and so far only understands Chinese.

The novelty is based on SoC MediaTek MT8516, has a TI TAS5751M amplifier and weighs 400 g with dimensions of 126 x 83 mm.
