Listening to music on my 35AC-1, every day I was more and more tired of their sound. I have long heard about the completion of the AU, but for some reason I did not pay much attention to it before. But then I decided to try it anyway. Climbing on the Internet, I found a lot of information about the modifications of 35AC-212 (S-90) and 35AC-1, and I got down to business.

Refinement of the acoustic system 35AC-1. Acoustic system 35AC-1

1. Case

The first thing I took apart was the speaker system. I unscrewed the front panel, dynamic heads, took out the cotton wool, removed the filter and the phase inverter.

Then I strengthened the back wall of the box by installing two rails through the entire body with a thickness and width of 20mm and a spacer (see photo), closed the holes on the front panel where there was a glass from the mid-frequency head, high-frequency head and switches. I hammered plywood with a thickness of 10mm PVA glue. In place of the glass, I cut out new holes for the midrange and tweeters. (see photo). I put a plastic cup (similar to the S-90) on the midrange, but it's usually better to put a wooden one. Inside, I glued all the walls with 18mm foam rubber (I didn’t find felt), but before that, I need to lay the wires of the HF and MF heads under it (I didn’t do this, I hurried). The phase inverter was shortened by 10 cm by tuning it to a different frequency (less mumbling) and also glued it with foam rubber on top. The drawer is lined with black fabric.

 2. Filter

I started by throwing away the tone switches and unnecessary resistors, for this you may need a circuit (it’s not hard to find on the Internet). After that, I moved all the filter details to a wooden plank of 8mm plywood. Inductors are not recommended to be welded, they must be taken with glue. I soldered all the connecting wires of the filter to an audio cable (at least the cheapest one) Soldered the wires that lead to the heads directly to the filter and not through each other. On the woofer, a thick wire of at least 2 mm2, on the midrange is not thinner than 1,5mm2, and 1mm2 on the high-frequency head (in the photo, the wires on the midrange and high-frequency heads are thin, I wanted to try and put what it was, later replaced it).

The filter is screwed onto the bottom wall of the speaker.

3. Vata

From one sausage that I took out from the ace, I sewed a square-shaped pillow and threw it on top of the column. On the other, I made a small pillow (approximately 0,5 sausages) and put it on the bottom on top of the filter.

4. MF

I didn't have any mid-range speakers. I put 10GD-34 only after finishing it (gluing a cap from a tennis ball, I also found an article about this refinement on the net), and also closed the windows in the diffuser holder of the head with foam rubber. I glued the glass from the inside with felt and filled it with cotton wool.

5. Final part

Soldered the dynamic heads while maintaining the polarity of the inclusion. Dynamic heads screwed through rubber gaskets. Turned on the music and began to enjoy a completely different sound. I myself did not believe that my 35AC-1 could play like that.

P.S. I advise you to remake one speaker first, so that you can compare the sound of one and the other speaker system. If you have any questions or advice write!

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

The smell of malice 15.10.2020

The smell gives information about the freshness of the food, and disgust means that the food is unfit for food. Following the same principle, pain protects the body from serious injury, such as causing a person to pull their hand away from a hot iron. Psychologists believe that these types of survival reflexes can also be triggered in response to other people's bad behavior.

A research team at the University of Geneva (UNIGE) found that unhealthy behavior triggers a brain response similar to that of a bad smell. "These connections have been demonstrated through associations between situations and sensations," says Prof. Corrado Corradi-Dell'Aqua, a researcher in the UNIGE Department of Psychology and lead researcher of the study. "For example, if I drink something while reading an article about corruption, which affects to my moral judgments, I may find that my drink smells bad and tastes nasty. The opposite is also true: smells can generate inappropriate moral judgments. If someone smells bad, other people tend to consider them unhealthy."

Scientists consider this discovery very important for psychology. Their observations also led to the development of a prototype olfactory aversion biomarker. "It's a double step forward!" concludes Professor Corradi-Dell'Aqua.
