The scheme of the desulfating charger was proposed by Samundzhi and L. Simeonov.

The charger is made on the basis of a half-wave rectifier on a diode V1 with parametric voltage stabilization (V2) and a current amplifier (V3, V4). Signal lamp H1 lights up when the transformer is connected to the network. The average charging current of about 1,8 A is regulated by the selection of resistor R3. The discharge current is set by the resistor R1. The voltage on the secondary winding of the transformer is 21 V (peak value 28 V). The voltage on the battery at the rated charging current is 14 V. Therefore, the charging current of the battery occurs only when the amplitude of the output voltage of the current amplifier exceeds the battery voltage.

During one period of alternating voltage, one impulse of the charging current is formed during the time Ti. The battery discharge occurs during the time Tz= 2Ti. Therefore, the ammeter shows the average value of the charging current, which is approximately one third of the amplitude value of the total charging and discharging currents.

Schematic diagram of a desulphating charger

In the charger, you can use the transformer TC-200 from the TV. The secondary windings from both coils of the transformer are removed and a new winding is wound with a PEV-2 1,5 mm wire, consisting of 74 turns (37 turns on each coil). Transistor V4 is mounted on a radiator with an effective surface area of about 200 cmXNUMX.

Details:

Diodes V1 type D242A. D243A, D245A. D305, V2 one or two zener diodes connected in series D814A, V5 type D226: transistors V3 type KT803A, V4 type KT803A or KT808A.

When setting up the charger, you should select the voltage based on transistor V3. This voltage is taken from the potentiometer slider (470 ohms) connected in parallel with the zener diode V2. In this case, the resistor R2 is chosen with a resistance of about 500 ohms. By moving the potentiometer slider, it is achieved that the average value of the charging current varies by 1,8 A.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Nanohousing for sun-loving bacteria 10.03.2022

Researchers at the University of Cambridge in the UK have 3D printed a grid of high-rise "nano-housing" in which sun-loving bacteria can grow rapidly. With these "houses," scientists have been able to extract more of the energy generated from photosynthesis from bacteria, which can be used to power small electronics - more than with traditional renewable bioenergy production methods.

Cyanobacteria are large bacteria capable of photosynthesis. For several years, researchers have been trying to "reconfigure" the mechanisms of photosynthesis in cyanobacteria in order to extract energy from them. To grow, cyanobacteria need a lot of sunlight - for this they are well suited, for example, the surface of a lake in summer. And in order to extract the energy they produce from photosynthesis, bacteria must be attached to electrodes.

A team from Cambridge has 3D printed special electrodes from metal oxide nanoparticles - highly branched, densely packed columnar structures, similar to a tiny city. Scientists have developed a printing method that allows you to control the different lengths of the bars.

The new method increased the amount of extracted energy by an order of magnitude compared to other methods of producing bioenergy from photosynthesis.

"Cyanobacteria are versatile chemical factories. Our approach allows us to use their energy conversion pathways at an early stage, which helps us understand how they perform energy conversion so that we can use their natural pathways for renewable fuels or chemical production," the authors note. work.
