Three types of modulation

Bi-phase coding

The length of the pulses and the intervals between them are 0.9ms or 1.8ms.

Logic 0 and 1 are defined as shown in the figure:

Infrared remote control

Pulse-distance modulation

The pulse length is constant.

Intervals of greater duration - log. 1, smaller - log. 0.

Infrared remote control

Encoding standards

RC-5

Modulation Biphase. The high bits come first, then the low bits.

If you press the button on the remote control and hold, parcels will be sent (DataWord)

with the same Toggle bit value. If you release the button and press again,

the same messages will go, but with the inverse value of Toggle bit.

Infrared remote control

This standard uses PHILIPS и SAMSUNG without any deviation.

NEC

Modulation Pulse-distance. Low bits go first, then high bits.

When you press the button on the remote control, one full package is issued,

and then single pulses go through the gaps, indicating that

that the button is still pressed. Before sending (first full and single pulses)

there is one long synchronization pulse.

Infrared remote control

In the package, the address and the command go twice - first simply, then with inversion

(something did not match - the command was not accepted). In addition, the main package goes

only once at the push of a button. The likelihood that it will pass

right the first time, not very high.

data word:

Infrared remote control

Example: address 00110111" and command 00011010"

encoded as 00110111'11001000'00011010'11100101".

This standard is used HITACHI, NOKIA, AIWA, AKAI, AverMedia.

Creative RM-900 (by SoundBlaster Live Platinum) repeats the first message 2 times,

in addition, the first byte of the address is C1h, and the second 44h, that is, between the first and

the second byte has nothing in common. For compatibility, the first 2 bytes of the address are not

both are compared and used.

RECS 80 / RC-4

Modulation Pulse-distance. The high bits come first, then the low bits.

Nothing is 100% up to this standard. For example, in distance

JVC used this standard with strong deviations (differences in

durations, Toggle bits never change, address bits 6,

and command 8 instead of 4 and 6, respectively).

Infrared remote control

Infrared remote control

Used JVC.

SONY/Panasonic

Modulation Pulse length. Low bits go first, then high bits.

At the beginning of the package there is a long start pulse. Up to 20 bits of data.

In the DCD plugins, slydiman.narod.ru/scr/plugins/dcd.htm and sndRemote, slydiman.narod.ru/scr/plugins/sndremote.htm, when decoding the signal, a 28-bit identifier of the form 0FAAAACC is obtained, where F is a flag that determines the modulation , A - address, C - command.

The exception is SONY, where the least significant 24 bits simply determine the command code.

Alcohol content of warm beer 07.05.2024

Beer, as one of the most common alcoholic drinks, has its own unique taste, which can change depending on the temperature of consumption. A new study by an international team of scientists has found that beer temperature has a significant impact on the perception of alcoholic taste. The study, led by materials scientist Lei Jiang, found that at different temperatures, ethanol and water molecules form different types of clusters, which affects the perception of alcoholic taste. At low temperatures, more pyramid-like clusters form, which reduces the pungency of the "ethanol" taste and makes the drink taste less alcoholic. On the contrary, as the temperature increases, the clusters become more chain-like, resulting in a more pronounced alcoholic taste. This explains why the taste of some alcoholic drinks, such as baijiu, can change depending on temperature. The data obtained opens up new prospects for beverage manufacturers, ... >>

Major risk factor for gambling addiction 07.05.2024

Computer games are becoming an increasingly popular form of entertainment among teenagers, but the associated risk of gaming addiction remains a significant problem. American scientists conducted a study to determine the main factors contributing to this addiction and offer recommendations for its prevention. Over the course of six years, 385 teenagers were followed to find out what factors may predispose them to gambling addiction. The results showed that 90% of study participants were not at risk of addiction, while 10% became gambling addicts. It turned out that the key factor in the onset of gambling addiction is a low level of prosocial behavior. Teenagers with a low level of prosocial behavior do not show interest in the help and support of others, which can lead to a loss of contact with the real world and a deepening dependence on virtual reality offered by computer games. Based on these results, scientists ... >>

Traffic noise delays the growth of chicks 06.05.2024

The sounds that surround us in modern cities are becoming increasingly piercing. However, few people think about how this noise affects the animal world, especially such delicate creatures as chicks that have not yet hatched from their eggs. Recent research is shedding light on this issue, indicating serious consequences for their development and survival. Scientists have found that exposure of zebra diamondback chicks to traffic noise can cause serious disruption to their development. Experiments have shown that noise pollution can significantly delay their hatching, and those chicks that do emerge face a number of health-promoting problems. The researchers also found that the negative effects of noise pollution extend into the adult birds. Reduced chances of reproduction and decreased fertility indicate the long-term effects that traffic noise has on wildlife. The study results highlight the need ... >>

Eyes will tell you what number is hidden 07.01.2011

By the eyes you can understand what number a person has guessed. So say neurologists from the University of Melbourne (Australia).

The researchers asked the participants in the experiment to name in turn any number from 1 to 30 that came to their mind, and at the same time followed the movements of the subjects' eyes. They noticed that if a person is going to name a number less than the one named before, his gaze moves to the left down, if more - to the right up. Apparently, people at the same time imagine a chain of numbers going from left to right from smaller to larger.

Data from a video camera connected to a computer that tracked eye movements was processed by a special program that accurately measured the range of these movements, and as a result, experimenters could often even guess the intended number. But with a "simple eye", without the help of technology, one cannot follow these small movements.

In addition, the amplitude of eye movements when guessing numbers is different for each person, so before a guessing session, a "graduation" must be carried out. The origin of the participants in the experience also plays a role: in cultures where they write and read from right to left, the mental chain of numbers goes in the same direction.
