ENCYCLOPEDIA OF RADIO ELECTRONICS AND ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING Beginner radio amateur. Tools. Encyclopedia of radio electronics and electrical engineering Encyclopedia of radio electronics and electrical engineering / Beginner radio amateur In the first lesson, I will tell you what tools you will need for further studies. First, the most important thing is soldering iron, it should be between 20 and 60 watts. A 20-25 watt soldering iron is preferable, as a 60 watt soldering iron is too bulky and too powerful. Secondly, solder and rosin are needed, however, you can buy "solder with rosin" then you will not need to buy rosin separately. Thirdly, you will need scissors, pliers, a screwdriver and a file. It is also desirable to have a small vise. I almost forgot, you still need a lot of thick cardboard ... Also, in the future, for the manufacture of high-quality boards, you will need textolite, ferric chloride or copper sulfate. That's all. But one soldering iron is not enough, you still need to learn how to solder. It's not difficult, for example, take one wire, expose its end with scissors (or even better with side cutters), put it with this end on a piece of rosin and lightly press on top with a soldering iron (HOT!). Now a thin layer of rosin has appeared on the wiring, after that you take a drop of solder with a soldering iron and smear the wiring over the "rosin" part. Blow. Everything, now the frozen solder shines beautifully on the wiring. So it is necessary to process each of the parts to be soldered. This processing is called tinning. After processing, put one part on top of the other and drip a small drop of solder on them, now they will be firmly soldered together. It happens that the legs of the parts are oxidized and they are poorly tinned. For these purposes, you will need fine sandpaper. You can also use various soldering acids. Later, to test circuits, you will need a tester (voltmeter, ammeter, ohmmeter). It is better not to save on the device and buy a good one, it will significantly save your time when setting up circuits. If you are planning to seriously engage in radio electronics, then I advise you to purchase an oscilloscope. A very useful thing. A small addition about tools for radio amateurs from the moderator of the bug forum - Werewolf'a. Now I wanted to talk about an instrument for a radio amateur. This is strictly for beginners. I will reveal the secret that those "cutters" with which you bite the wires are actually called side cutters! In the photo, left to right and top to bottom. 1. A device with a lens and two crocodile hinges. Convenient and cheap. Now I rarely use it, there is a table lamp with a lens. 2. Magnifying glasses with backlight. Do not try to buy "watch" lenses! 3. A multimeter is an essential part of your lab. The photo is expensive, but you can get by with something cheaper at first. 4. The green jar is "oxidal" - white powder, cleans the tip of the soldering iron, just lower the heated soldering iron into it, and take it out absolutely clean. In the photo, under oxidal, imported solder paste. Such a jar costs 50-100 rubles, I have enough for a year. It is very convenient because it does not leave traces of rosin and during the tuning process you can simply wipe it with a swab. 5. I usually use solder POS 61 or an imported analogue with a diameter of 1 mm or less. 6. Control receiver. In the photo, scanning imported 420-450 MHz. I use it when tuning to the appropriate frequency. 7. Soldering station. Regulates temperature from 150 to 440С 18 watts. But this is not a mandatory option, you can use a soldering iron for 8-25W. 8. Anti-static wrist strap. A very useful thing if you work with microcircuits and field-effect transistors. Removes static electricity from your body without breakdown. In fact, just a piece of wire with a 1MΩ resistor connected to a heating battery. 9. Two straight and angled tweezers, try to choose softer ones - your hands get tired less. 10. Suction. In general, a manual compressor for removing solder when trying to desolder a part of a microcircuit. It's very hard to solder without it. 11. Non-metal screwdriver! Made from composite porcelain. If not, you can make it out of plastic. Needed when setting up contours, because it has no effect! 12. Side cutters - there are many variations, I personally like these! 13. Two small screwdrivers for assembly and disassembly of equipment. 14. Round nose pliers and platypuses. It is convenient to form the legs of the elements with round-nose pliers before soldering to the board. Well, there is no need to explain with platypuses. 15. At the very bottom, a rag for wiping the soldering iron tip. Can be any natural. I almost forgot! Drilling machine! Without an engine, it costs 250 rubles on the market. It clamps from 0.4 to 4 mm, a 4mm drill is inserted in the photo (drilled holes for fastening the frequency meter board). Publication: cxem.net See other articles Section Beginner radio amateur.
