Which of the motorists who have electric headlight cleaners does not know the unpleasant phenomenon when the brushes are frozen and the engine is turned on (either by accident, or when the windshield washer is turned on with the dipped headlights on). The blocking contacts closed due to backlash and deflection of the wiper arm, and the engine stopped with the power on. The fate of the headlight cleaner is a foregone conclusion: due to the high internal resistance, the regular fuse does not blow out until the armature winding is completely burned out. Such an engine is expensive, so convenience is usually abandoned forever.

Having rewound such engines twice on my "Niva", I installed a device on them (see figure). More than 10 years have passed, and the engines are working.

When power is supplied to the engine, the D1 chip is powered through the R5VD2 parametric stabilizer. The counter is set to its initial state by the charge current of the capacitor C2. At the same time, pin 5 of the microcircuit has a low logic level, transistor VT1 is closed, and VT2 is open. The motor starts to rotate. The counter counts the pulses of the clock generator with the timing elements C1, R1, R2.

If there is no interference with the rotation of the motor, then at the moment of reversing the contacts of the switch S1 due to the recharging of the capacitor C2, the counter is reset again, and the motor continues to rotate. If the blocking contacts do not switch within 10-15 s, then the counter is filled, and a high logic level appears at its output, which leads to the opening of VT1. Transistor VT2 closes. The motor is de-energized. In this state, the counter can be for a long time due to the VD1 diode, which disrupts the oscillations when filled.

The cycle of operation of the device is repeated when the voltage is removed for a short time (switching off the dipped beam headlights).

Transistor VT2 works without a radiator. VT1 - any low-power silicon with long leads for surface mounting. The whole device is mounted without a board inside the motor housing on the mounting lugs of the motor and the limit switch.

It is useful to assemble the same device for the windshield and rear window cleaner motors, although they fail due to freezing of the relay brushes due to the fact that the brushes are in front of the eyes, and the driver manages to release them before the engine burns out.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Superfast cargo delivery 27.02.2002

A group of scientists from Bochum (Germany) has created a capsule that is designed to transport goods underground. It is a sealed structure 1,6 m high, which at a speed of 3540 km / h will transport a variety of goods along metro lines and highways.

The track along which the capsule will move, controlled not by a driver, but by a computer, will connect, for example, an airport with a factory, a factory with a warehouse, a warehouse with a port. The project is called Cargo Sar and is pretty far advanced.

To date, there is already a model of the capsule, which is now being modernized: the design is being finalized, the optimal speed is being calculated, the degree of metal wear, the permissible track angle, etc. .
