The low-voltage sound indicator circuit (Fig. 4.12) is designed to improve the safety of driving a car at night. This device prevents the driver from falling asleep while driving. The indicator, together with the battery, is made on a single-sided printed circuit board in the form of a bracket (Fig. 4.13), which allows, by turning on the SA1 microswitch, to fix it behind the ear.

With a deep tilt of the head (at the moment of falling asleep), the contacts of the tilt sensor F1 will close and the indicator will turn on - a loud signal will instantly wake the driver.

Of course, the reliability of the device will largely depend on the design of the sensor F1. Having tried various designs of the head tilt sensor, I chose the simplest one - it can be easily made without the use of machines. It consists of a spring from a ballpoint pen, an M4x5 brass screw and a contact stop (Fig. 4.14). The screw is inserted into the spring and soldered (using flux or an aspirin tablet). The second end of the spring is shortened and attached to the board.

The indicator is operable when the supply voltage changes in the range from 0,7 to 2 V and consumes no more than 5 mA.

The device circuit is a self-oscillator on transistors of different structures with a direct connection. The use of a piezo emitter allows you to make the indicator small and light. To obtain sufficient sound volume, the L1 coil is connected in parallel with the piezoelectric emitter. Together with the internal capacitance HF1, it forms a resonant circuit. This allows, due to resonant oscillations, to increase the operating voltage on the piezo-radiator, which will significantly exceed the supply voltage.

the HF1 piezo emitter is fixed above the board elements by soldering to the contact pads

Piezo emitters of different types have values of their own sound resonant frequency, which are in the range of 2...8 kHz. Therefore, when changing the type of piezoelectric emitter for each specific case, you can choose the best combination of circuit parameters (to obtain maximum volume with minimum current consumption).

The frequency of sound can be changed by capacitor C1 or by changing the number of vitkov coil L1, which, of course, is less convenient. Coil L1 contains 600 turns of PEV-0,08 wire (0,1 or 0,12 mm) wound on two rings of size K2x10x6 mm glued together with BF-3 ("Moment") glue made of ferrite 700NM1 (or 1000NN). Microswitch SA1 can be used type PD-9-2. Battery G1 type RC53M or similar. Resistors and capacitors are suitable for any type, it is permissible to replace the KT315G transistors with KT312V, KT3102E, and the KT361V transistor with KT3107.

The loudest sound will be when the frequency of the self-oscillator and the natural resonant frequency of the piezoelectric emitter coincide. The sound indicator can find other applications, for example in children's toys.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Fastest Wireless Charging 24.10.2020

The Chinese company Xiaomi has introduced the world's fastest wireless charging. According to the manufacturer, the new technology allows you to fully charge a 4000 mAh battery in just 19 minutes. It takes 50 minutes to replenish the energy supply by 8%. The power of this charger is 80W.

For the first time, wireless charging from Xiaomi appeared in the Mi Mix 2S smartphone, presented two years ago. It had a power of only 7,5 watts. Mi Mix 3 received support for 10-watt wireless charging. Last year, the power increased to 20 W - the flagship smartphone Xiaomi Mi 9 received such wireless charging. This year, Xiaomi increased the power of wireless charging twice already: in March to 40 W and up to 50 W in August, when the flagship Xiaomi Mi 10 was introduced. Ultra.

The Chinese company does not plan to stop at this achievement. Xiaomi is already working on 100W wireless charging.
