Elephone P10 9000-core smartphone

Chinese mobile technology manufacturer Elephone has announced the first smartphone based on a 10-core chipset.

The flagship Elephone P9000 is equipped with a 20nm MediaTek Helio X20 processor with a three-stage structure - two powerful ARM Cortex-A72 cores, four medium Cortex-A53s and four energy-efficient Cortex-A53s for the most simple tasks.

Also, the smartphone will receive a 5,5-inch screen with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels, 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of expandable flash memory. The main camera received a resolution of 21 MP, front - 8 MP. The battery capacity is 3100 mAh.

The cost of new items in China will be about 500 US dollars.

First 5G smartphone 18.10.2017

At the 2017 Qualcomm 4G/5G Summit in Hong Kong, Qualcomm Technologies held the first successful demonstration of its flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon X50 processor in the fifth generation 5G mobile network, and also presented a prototype of its first 5G smartphone based on it.

The Snapdragon X50 processor has not only demonstrated successful transmission of data at speeds over 1 Gbps in the networks of several 5G operators, but also demonstrated the practical operation of a miniature mmWave antenna module in the 28 GHz frequency band.

In addition to demonstrating the capabilities of the Snapdragon X50 chip, Qualcomm also showed for the first time the reference design of its first mmWave 5G smartphone, designed to test and optimize 5G mmWave networks using a real prototype in a mobile form factor.

According to Cristiano Amon, EVP of Qualcomm Technologies, carriers deploying mmWave 5G networks will be able to use the Snapdragon X50 5G modem for field testing in the early stages of implementation.
