The amplifier has the following main technical characteristics:

Rated output power ...... 55 W
Harmonic distortion .......... 0,07%
Operating frequency band .......... 20... 50 Hz
Signal-to-noise ratio .................... 89 dB
Supply voltage ........... ±36 V
Quiescent current .......... 100 mA

One of the features of this power amplifier is its power supply from a bipolar source. This allows you to turn on the load between the outputs of the amplifier and the common wire without a transition capacitor. Another feature is the use of a balanced differential input stage with good thermal stability.

Schematic diagram of the amplifier is shown in fig. 1. It consists of an input stage (transistors VT1. VT2}, a voltage amplification stage (VT3) and an output stage (VT4-VT7) and protection elements for output transistors (VD3-VD6). The input stage is made according to the differential stage circuit with an unbalanced output. the signal enters the base of the transistor VT1 through a decoupling capacitor C1. The OOC signal is fed from the output through the resistor R6 to the base of the transistor VT2. The differential stage compares the output voltage with the zero voltage of the common wire, and if for some reason the constant voltage at the output of the amplifier becomes different from zero, the error signal from the output of the differential stage is fed to the output stage, thereby providing zero voltage at the output of the amplifier. From the output of the differential stage, the signal is fed to the voltage amplifier and through the resistor D7 to the output stage. The output stage is made on composite complementary transistors VT4, VT6 and VT5, VT7, with a large input and a very small output resistance.

Diodes VD1 and VD2 create the initial bias of the output stage and provide temperature stabilization of the quiescent current of the output transistors. Through the voltage boost capacitor C5, the PIC is connected to the target. collector load of the transistor VT3, thereby ensuring the maximum output voltage swing. Diodes VD3, VD4 and VD5, VD6 protect the output transistors by shunting the transistor junctions in case of overload. Elements C3, C6, R.14, C7, L1 prevent self-excitation of the amplifier at high frequencies.

For temperature stabilization of the quiescent current of the output transistors, diodes VD1 and VD2 are installed on a heat sink common with transistors VT6 VT7. Coil L1 is wound on a resistor R15 (MLT-2) and contains 25 turns of PEV-2 0,8 wire. Resistors R12 and R13 are made of high-resistance wire (manganin, constantan).

The adjustment of the amplifier consists in checking the correct installation. With proper installation and the use of serviceable elements, additional settings are not required. To power the amplifier, a bipolar source is required that provides a current of at least 36 A at a voltage of ± 1,2 V.

The world's tallest astronomical observatory opened 04.05.2024

Exploring space and its mysteries is a task that attracts the attention of astronomers from all over the world. In the fresh air of the high mountains, far from city light pollution, the stars and planets reveal their secrets with greater clarity. A new page is opening in the history of astronomy with the opening of the world's highest astronomical observatory - the Atacama Observatory of the University of Tokyo. The Atacama Observatory, located at an altitude of 5640 meters above sea level, opens up new opportunities for astronomers in the study of space. This site has become the highest location for a ground-based telescope, providing researchers with a unique tool for studying infrared waves in the Universe. Although the high altitude location provides clearer skies and less interference from the atmosphere, building an observatory on a high mountain poses enormous difficulties and challenges. However, despite the difficulties, the new observatory opens up broad research prospects for astronomers. ... >>

Controlling objects using air currents 04.05.2024

The development of robotics continues to open up new prospects for us in the field of automation and control of various objects. Recently, Finnish scientists presented an innovative approach to controlling humanoid robots using air currents. This method promises to revolutionize the way objects are manipulated and open new horizons in the field of robotics. The idea of controlling objects using air currents is not new, but until recently, implementing such concepts remained a challenge. Finnish researchers have developed an innovative method that allows robots to manipulate objects using special air jets as "air fingers". The air flow control algorithm, developed by a team of specialists, is based on a thorough study of the movement of objects in the air flow. The air jet control system, carried out using special motors, allows you to direct objects without resorting to physical ... >>

Purebred dogs get sick no more often than purebred dogs 03.05.2024

Caring for the health of our pets is an important aspect of the life of every dog owner. However, there is a common assumption that purebred dogs are more susceptible to diseases compared to mixed dogs. New research led by researchers at the Texas School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences brings new perspective to this question. A study conducted by the Dog Aging Project (DAP) of more than 27 companion dogs found that purebred and mixed dogs were generally equally likely to experience various diseases. Although some breeds may be more susceptible to certain diseases, the overall diagnosis rate is virtually the same between both groups. The Dog Aging Project's chief veterinarian, Dr. Keith Creevy, notes that there are several well-known diseases that are more common in certain breeds of dogs, which supports the notion that purebred dogs are more susceptible to disease. ... >>

New DVD recording format proposed 29.11.2003

The 216 companies that make up the DVD Forum will jointly introduce a new and improved DVD recording format, the so-called "enhanced DVD".

The new technology provides the same recording density as the existing DVD format, still uses a red laser as a recording device, but the enhanced DVD will provide Internet connectivity and a fast recording mode. Forum participants include well-known electronics manufacturers such as Hitachi Ltd, Matsushita Electric Industrial Co Ltd, Toshiba SOF, Sony SOF and Pioneer SOF.

The new format will allow storing network addresses and special digital keys that authorize the owner when connecting to digital record stores. It is assumed that the first devices that support the updated DVD format will appear on the market as early as 2004. It would be useful, perhaps, to recall that there is also a fundamentally new technology for recording digital video, based on the use of a "blue laser".

Increasing the recording density by reducing the wavelength of the active part of the laser spectrum makes it possible to record up to three hours of digital television broadcasting on one disc. As for the enhanced DVD, the updated DVD can "boast" only 2 hours of recording on one disc.
