Wind turbines can be divided into two categories: industrial and domestic (for private use). Industrial, installed by the state, or large energy corporations. As a rule, they are combined in a network. It turns out a real power plant. Its main difference from traditional (thermal, nuclear) is the complete absence of both raw materials and waste. The only important requirement for a WPP is a high average annual wind level. The power of modern wind turbines reaches 6 MW.

Wind power

Today, the world's wind energy is a booming industry with billions in turnover. Germany, for example, covers 7% of its energy consumption; Denmark plans to increase this figure to 50% by 2030 with the help of wind energy!

At present, there is also a growing interest in wind energy in Russia - there are many who want to use the free and widely available energy resource - wind.

However, the development of network wind energy (windmills that enliven European landscapes belong to this category) is problematic in Russia: for the effective operation of network wind generators, it is necessary, firstly, to connect them to a network of comparable capacity and, secondly, high quality electricity, provided by this network. In addition, there is no legal and regulatory framework that allows independent producers to sell electricity to power systems and even include their generating capacities in this power system. Plus, quite low (most likely, YET low) electricity tariffs ...

But for private use (cottages, country houses, etc.), wind turbines fit almost perfectly. Wind power in our country today is just emerging (more precisely, it is being revived), therefore, there are still no so-called "well-proven" (meaning, mainly, long service life) models of wind turbines of domestic production. But there are "specially made" and good "western" ones.

Wind generators of domestic production with a capacity of 1 kW to 10 kW can meet the electrical needs of an "average" cottage. The indisputable advantage of domestically produced wind turbines is that, unlike most Western models, our installations are able to operate in extreme conditions: at very low temperatures and high wind speeds!

Integration of a wind generator with a diesel generator allows, firstly, to save up to 50% of the latter's fuel and, secondly, to achieve 100% reliable power supply to your home!

Alcohol content of warm beer 07.05.2024

Beer, as one of the most common alcoholic drinks, has its own unique taste, which can change depending on the temperature of consumption. A new study by an international team of scientists has found that beer temperature has a significant impact on the perception of alcoholic taste. The study, led by materials scientist Lei Jiang, found that at different temperatures, ethanol and water molecules form different types of clusters, which affects the perception of alcoholic taste. At low temperatures, more pyramid-like clusters form, which reduces the pungency of the "ethanol" taste and makes the drink taste less alcoholic. On the contrary, as the temperature increases, the clusters become more chain-like, resulting in a more pronounced alcoholic taste. This explains why the taste of some alcoholic drinks, such as baijiu, can change depending on temperature. The data obtained opens up new prospects for beverage manufacturers, ... >>

Major risk factor for gambling addiction 07.05.2024

Computer games are becoming an increasingly popular form of entertainment among teenagers, but the associated risk of gaming addiction remains a significant problem. American scientists conducted a study to determine the main factors contributing to this addiction and offer recommendations for its prevention. Over the course of six years, 385 teenagers were followed to find out what factors may predispose them to gambling addiction. The results showed that 90% of study participants were not at risk of addiction, while 10% became gambling addicts. It turned out that the key factor in the onset of gambling addiction is a low level of prosocial behavior. Teenagers with a low level of prosocial behavior do not show interest in the help and support of others, which can lead to a loss of contact with the real world and a deepening dependence on virtual reality offered by computer games. Based on these results, scientists ... >>

Traffic noise delays the growth of chicks 06.05.2024

The sounds that surround us in modern cities are becoming increasingly piercing. However, few people think about how this noise affects the animal world, especially such delicate creatures as chicks that have not yet hatched from their eggs. Recent research is shedding light on this issue, indicating serious consequences for their development and survival. Scientists have found that exposure of zebra diamondback chicks to traffic noise can cause serious disruption to their development. Experiments have shown that noise pollution can significantly delay their hatching, and those chicks that do emerge face a number of health-promoting problems. The researchers also found that the negative effects of noise pollution extend into the adult birds. Reduced chances of reproduction and decreased fertility indicate the long-term effects that traffic noise has on wildlife. The study results highlight the need ... >>

Microchips 3D TLC NAND 32 GB 07.08.2015

Toshiba Corporation has announced the world's first 48-layer 3D NAND chips with a capacity of 256 gigabits, or 32 GB.

The presented products belong to the BiCS (Bit Cost Scalable) family, that is, the memory scales well at low cost. BiCS microchip production technology allows to obtain stacks of 48 layers, which are highly reliable in data writing and erasing operations. In addition, an increase in the speed of recording information is provided.

The new chips are made using the TLC technique, which allows you to store three bits of information in one cell.

The new 3D TLC NAND products are said to be used in consumer and enterprise solid state drives, flash memory cards, and storage devices for portable devices such as smartphones, phablets and tablets.

Trial deliveries of new products will begin in September this year. Commercial products based on the presented memory chips, most likely, will appear no earlier than 2016.
