Resinite, invented by Lebach, is similar to bakelite, both in terms of the method of manufacture and in terms of their properties. The difference in the manufacturing method is that neutral or alkaline-reactive salts are used as a condensing property, such as: sodium acetate, potassium chromate, neutral sodium sulfite, ammonium sulfite, sodium hyposulfite (hyposulfite), trisodium phosphate, soda, potash, carbonic acid ammonium, etc. Rubber can be obtained as follows.

Heat 100 wt. parts of phenol and 100 wt. h. commercial 1 formaldehyde 30 wt. hours (currently take from 1 to 10 parts by weight) of neutral sodium sulfite. The mixture is heated in an open container at the temperature of a water bath and, when a clean light yellow mass is obtained, the temperature is slowly increased to approximately 130 ° C, at which time the entire mass thickens into a solid glassy mass, which then takes the shape of the dish. The resulting mass is the final product of condensation, insoluble and infusible, amenable to lathe, grinding, polishing and painting.

The rubber mass is obtained without bubbles and in this respect it is an advantage over bakelite, i.e. it does not require the use of a bakelizer. Fillers such as talc, starch, casein, etc., as well as coloring agents are added to the reaction mixture during and after the reaction.

Resinite, like Bakelite, can be obtained in various forms. The liquid mass, or rather the plastic degree, corresponding to the shape of bakelite, is called the "rubber mass", while the finished product, corresponding to the degree "C" of bakelite, is called resinite II, resinite III, etc.

Rubber mass I, due to its water content, is a liquid material and can be used to coat wood, folders and other materials. After prolonged heating, the layer of rubber mass passes into the final degree of condensation. The materials covered with it acquire the ability to resist mechanical influences, moisture, decay, etc.

Rezinit II - is a viscous liquid from yellow to red. This mass can be obtained by heating for 6 hours at a temperature of 85 °C. This mass, when cooled, hardens into a purple-red transparent mass. It is used to make various jewelry: hat needles, beads, beads, fake enamel, putties, etc. A lighter type of resinite mass is obtained in a bakelizer.

Rezinit II special - serves exclusively for the manufacture of the already mentioned resinites III and IV. Again we get a yellow viscous liquid, from which a lot of crystals stand out. These crystals must be separated before use.

Rezinit III - obtained by mixing two parts of the rubber mass II with one part of potato flour. This mixture can be dyed in any color with aniline dyes, such as: red - cocgo, safranin, orange - chrysoidine, blue - methylene blue, brown - vesuvine, black - fine soot, green - diamond green, etc.

First dissolve the paint in water, alcohol or glycerin, cool well and quickly mix thoroughly, adding hydrochloric acid to the mixture (20%, sp. 1,10). At 10 wt. Part of the mass take 1 weight part of hydrochloric acid. Then, pour the cold mass into molds (the temperature of the molds is the same as the mass) and heat for 10-15 minutes at a temperature of 60-80 °C. The mass hardens completely and is easily removed from the molds. To neutralize the hydrochloric acid they contain, molded objects are placed in diluted ammonia for some time. Suitable materials for preparing molds are porcelain, glass, and polished metal molds, which must be coated with a thin layer of tsapon varnish before each use (to protect against the action of hydrochloric acid on the metal).

The rubber masses acquire the gloss of the matrices, so that in most cases polishing of molded objects is unnecessary.

Rezinit III is particularly suitable for the rapid production of clichés, both line and shadow. Resinite III is especially valued in engineering for its ability to be easily molded into moulds. Objects take on the details of the form, with such precision that the need for further processing is eliminated. It is also used for the manufacture of multi-colored tiles and inlay works.

Rezinit IV pIt is a mixture of 30% rubber mass II special and 70% kaolin. This mass is used for cold molding of various stone-like objects. By coloring, you can get a mass of any color. The above resinite masses have a natural color (without fillers) from yellowish to red, so that colorless objects cannot be made from them.

Rubber V is the final infusible and insoluble condensation product. Obtained by processing (heating) the original condensation product in a bakelizer. Resinite V is usually obtained in the form of white or painted in any color bars. It has excellent elasticity. The finished material lends itself easily to pointing, grinding and polishing. From a mixture of variously colored masses, imitations of marble, malachite, lapis lazuli, etc. can be obtained. In most cases, a bakelizer is not needed to obtain hard resinite masses, it can only be recommended in some cases.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Smart glasses and implantable chips instead of smartphones 01.06.2022

Pekka Lundmark, CEO of telecommunications equipment company Nokia, said that the commercial use of the sixth generation (6G) communication networks will begin in 2030. At the same time, he noted that by that time, most likely, many people will refuse to use smartphones, preferring wearable electronics and implantable chips.

During a speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Lundmark said he expects commercial use of 6G around 2030. He noted that even before that, people are likely to abandon smartphones and switch to smart glasses and other similar devices that can connect to the Internet and interact with each other. Moreover, some of these devices will be implanted in the human body.

“By then, the smartphone as we know it today will definitely no longer be the most common interface. Many of these things will be built directly into our bodies,” Lundmark said.

He did not specify what exactly he meant, but it is likely that we are talking about electronic implants, such as those developed by Elon Musk's company Neuralink. In a broader sense, we can talk about chips designed to be implanted in fingers or other parts of the body.

Lundmark also said that by 2030 there will be a "digital twin of everything", which will require "tremendous computing power". According to him, in order to transmit data in the Metaverse, the networks must be 100 or even 1000 times faster than we have today.
